Popular Post Odder_Sea
Thank you for taking the time to organize and explain these principles. I've personally found that there are Three "Big D's" that limit the performance of the loudspeaker: Distortion, Diffraction, and Directivity. Of these three, the first is the only one that gets much attention from designers and buyers, as the remaining two usually require designs that are too unwieldy, unsightly, or difficult to either produce or be seriously considered by most buyers. As such, with few exceptions, we keep getting a new batch of squirrel and monkey coffins every year, with slightly better cones n' domes than last year's models, with little to show for it sonically.
