Smaragdhk
Sorry to revive this thread… there is a lot of discussion on the signal flow / direction of cables… most speaker and signal cables have an arrow pointing out the direction… your ears will confirm if the printed direction on those cables is indeed correct or not… So my question : is this important at all for DC cables? If so, can someone explain why? Link to comment
Smaragdhk
And an additional question, if you use the “wrong” direction with a DC cable, would you hear the difference, e.g. affect the sound? Link to comment
Smaragdhk
I can highly recommend the NeoTech route. Having made many cables myself with NeoTech raw cable… You don’t need to look to far: www.Audiophonics.fr Link to comment
Smaragdhk
You should observe the polarity of course, one lead is ground (ring), the other connects to the tip. Do this on both sides. I twist both leads into a spiral shape and wrap with a shield. Then use heat shrink on both sides over the connectors so tue spiral shape remains intact. Nick90 1 Link to comment
Smaragdhk
A good example illustration below: solder the ring first and then wrap with heat shrink. then solder the tip second: once the cable is soldered and the strai relief of closed, you can twist both leads into the spiral… PS the illustration doesn’t show the heat shrink… Nick90 1 Link to comment
