For the first time after the arrival of Compact Disc and the assumed demise of vinyl records, an analogue product re-emerged in the “mass market” – something all music lovers could afford. The new DEBUT Carbon DC has been designed to set new standards in this category for the coming decade – perfectly timed as analogue today is again a respected source, while the demand for good turntables is growing again! The most obvious improvement is the inclusion of a CARBON TUBE for the tonearm, which increases stiffness and decreases unwanted resonance. This material normally is extensively used in high-end tonearms, but – because of cost reasons – was never used in products at lower price levels. Together with other improvements like an increase in platter size and weight to realize even smoother rotation, the overall sound quality is greatly improved. The approved belt drive design offers low noise AC motor with effective motor decoupling (utilizing TPE-damping) and ultra precision frequency DC-driven AC generator (like Speed Box) for ultimate speed stability without unwanted vibration. Pro-ject Phono Box S - Value-based audiophile MM/MC phono stage with adjustable cartridge loading ($199) In order to play a turntable trough any speakers or stereo system, a phono preamplifier is needed. The Pro-Ject Phono Box S is an audiophile grade phono stage featuring dual-mono circuit topology, high-grade component parts and precise RIAA equalization. Four adjustable gain levels, input impedance and capacitance settings are available to best match your phono cartridge for performance optimization. A switchable subsonic filter eliminates rumble below 20 Hz. High-quality parts and adjustment flexibility give the Phono Box S true class-leading performance. An outboard power supply is included. Here's what I currently have: A pair of wireless Audioengine A5+ powered speakers with an Airport Express that I stream my iTunes library to from my MacBook Pro via Airfoil, which also lets me play to my old Yamaha stereo system with two wired speakers through our Sony TV/Apple TV at the same time - giving me four speakers in our main living space. We also have a Denon turntable hooked up to the stereo. It, and the TV/BlueRay/Apple TV play through the stereo to the two wired speakers only. Here's what I want: The stereo is old and I'd like to replace it with a new amp and a decent pair of speakers - something as good as the A5+s. I want to be able to play everything through all four speakers - iTunes/Spotify and anything else on my Mac, as well as the turntable and TV/Apple TV. What do I buy? A new amp (suggestions for amps under $600) with a bluetooth adapter (suggestions?) to send to the A5+s, and a new set of passive speakers (maybe the Audioengine P4s?). Or do I even need an amp? Can I buy another set of A5+s and is there some kind of hub that will take all the inputs and then output to the wireless speakers, which have built-in amps? Does such a thing exist? I'm also considering setting up an older MacBook Pro as a music server, and it could be physically or wirelessly attached to any/all of the above. Also, should I add in a DAC for better sound? Thanks for your help.

I need to buy a new turntable, nothing to expensive but I would like a decent turntable. I have an amp with phono preamp so I dont need the turntable to have a built in preamp, I dont need usb or bluetooth. However I play alot of 12" E.Ps as well as albums so I do need a simple 33/45 rpm switch, also I dont mind manually putting the tone arm down but I do need autoreturn when the record finishes, this is because my wife also play records whilst doing things in other rooms and often she just totally forgets about the record when it has finisihed. I really like the look of the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo and was very tempted but unfortunately the lack of auto-return has made me think again, I read about q up accessory but it sounds like for that to work you have to remember to reset each time you use it, I can't see that happening in our house. The Rega turnatables have great reviews but they dont even have an 33/45 switch. So Im now looking at the Audio Techica LP3, this does have autoreturn and even auto tonearm down. But its clear that the sound is not going to be as good as for the others, I'm paying for a preamp I dont need and it doesn't look anyway near as nice as the other two. Does anyone have any other ideas ?

Price is $9749 with Ortofon TA-110 Tonearm and Cadenza Blue MC Cartridge, $7299 for the table and power-supply without the arm and cartridge. Price includes shipping to the lower 48 and any CC/PayPal Fees. This unit is being sold so we can bring in a new direct-drive turntable that will be coming from Art Audio. This is the Demo-Unit of the Composer Solo turntable and Phase 1 power supply. These must sell together as the Composer Solo has a UK power supply and the Phase 1 is needed to ensure proper power conversion. This was the analog input for our room at AXPONA - Check out our room review at part-time audiophile: https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2019/04/25/verdant-audio-art-audio-roon-musical-fidelity-ps-audio-axpona-2019/ It’s no secret that the Art Audio Composer started life as the Clarity Turntables made by Claro Engineering, the world respected aerospace engineers. However, for various reasons, this project, which was started by Claro for a client never came to fruition. At this point, Art Audio saw the potential of the basic design and took over the project and its future development. The company’s managing director and designer, Tom Willis, was well suited to this as his background was initially in electro-mechanical engineering. Technically the Composer turntables are second to none. They consist of a plinth made from black anodized aluminum machined to a tolerance of +/- 0.01mm which is mounted on three machined aluminum feet. To ensure rotational stability, the Composer has a dual motor design. These two AC motors provide excellent torque and when matched paired with the Phase 1 Power Supply, you can achieve flawless speed control. We then have the first centrally mounted CNC machined subplatter that is perfectly concentric and balanced.

Pear Audio Blue turntables, which have been extensively reviewed in Stereophile and elsewhere, are based on the engineering and design thinking of the late Tom Fletcher of Nottingham Audio. The Pear designs reflect Fletcher’s "final" ideas for improving on what he did with Nottingham as he handed the torch to Pear Audio. Like Nottingham tables, the Pear uses a low-torque motor; you start the platter spinning with a small push and brake it to a stop with your hand. Quite cool! The Robin Hood (list $1,995) is their least expensive table, but it is a superb performer. Mine is fitted with their Cornet 2 arm ($2,195), Pear’s most expensive tonearm. I am the original owner. The system has had limited use in the three years I have had it but has performed superbly. The shipping boxes are in so-so shape, but otherwise everything is excellent. The photos show an Ortofon Quintet Black MC cartridge ($995), which is not for sale, but if you really want it, we can discuss. The turntable and arm combo cost $4,190. I am motivated to sell, so I will consider reasonable offers. Shipping costs and PayPal fees are negotiable. US sale only, local sale (SF Bay Area) ideal. Thanks for looking. Dan
