  1. Hey guys , I am new in this forum. I'm a really casual user but I love hearing good quality sound when casually listening to music on my computer. I have a Creative Sound blaster Z. With some quick research i found these 4. https://i.gyazo.com/eb0910241aa15e0477e0a7f93c196e6c.png Are these worth? If yes , which one? Or any other suggestion . As you can tell the budget is around 320-350 euros
  2. Hello, I would like a discussion for my setup if possible. I bought a set of Genelec 8040B's on sale last November off of Amazon. They have been great to listening to for the purpose of "vibing" off to and enjoying music for listening to and not for the purpose of mixing or mastering. So far I have been borrowing my friend's Focusrite 2i4i audio interface, and with the latest driver for Windows 10 I have not spotted any cutting off or crackling which I am pleased of thus far. These monitors are really satisfying and have a lot of detail to show. I use 25' XLR to XLR cable with the addition of 2 XLR to TRS connectors to plug into the Focusrite audio interface. Having to return the interface to my friend, am I better off to repurchase this product? Or is there a substantially more worth it setup for my Genelec's? This is of course assuming I have a good room to start with. I'm talking about an upgrade to revealing audible detail and first hand comparisons that would make something more of a jem to listen to compared to the Focusrite 2i4i. I'm not using music to listen to equipment, but rather equipment to listen to music. Any discussion would be helpful, especially from first hand experience of working with Genelec's. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01E6T50LY/ref=s9u_simh_gw_i1?ie=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01E6T50LY&pd_rd_r=17a26602-4355-11e8-b4af-bb8759a2f7d7&pd_rd_w=SgdFF&pd_rd_wg=95DNU&pf_rd_m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=Z5RB9RANYAGHJ1P0R55Y&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=07871b8e-d32a-4963-b98f-ba712077f7f5&pf_rd_i=desktop https://www.amazon.ca/Genelec-Bi-Amplified-Monitor-System-Woofer/dp/B00K2TP4TQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1524089363&sr=1-1&keywords=genelec+8040 Thanks, Reggy
  3. Hey guys, I'm new here and to the audiophile scene so I have some questions. There's just so much information out there and I'm just having a hard time navigating it all to find the answer I'm looking for. I recently purchased some M-Audio BX8 Studio Monitors and along with it a Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface, which hooks up to the monitors and converts my digital music to analog (right?) I play all of my music from my laptop but that requires a usb connection from my audio interface to my computer. My question is: is it possible to buy some sort of wireless device to plug into my audio interface so that I can stream lossless music wirelessly from my computer to the device through my audio interface to my speakers? For example, I've been Googling and stumbled onto these: Aperion Audio's Wireless, Lossless Music System - "HAL" One, for these I would need a female usb connector to connect it to my audio interface, which it apparently doesn't have and two, it seems excessive to have something plugged into your computer AND audio interface to stream lossless music. Any suggestions? I'd really appreciate it! Andres
  4. Hello, I'm a guitar player that is setting up an entry-level home recording studio for personal, non professional purposes. I've been recording and composing some songs for my own enjoyment, and I'd like to start using studio monitors instead of computer speakers. I'm going to purchase two Tannoy Reveal 402s, and am looking for a simple entry level DAC that I can use as an audio interface between my computer and monitors. I'm currently looking at the M-Audio M-Track ($100, two 1/4" outputs) and am wondering if anyone can provide some guidance on this purchase. Are there less expensive options? Here is my current setup: Inputs: Schecter C-1 Blackjack Guitar MPK Mini Midi Key Controller Interface: Line 6 Toneport UX2 audio interface Computer/Software: Macbook Pro Retina -> Logic Pro X Speakers: Harmon Kardon Soundsticks III Thanks
  5. Well, comparing sound to video, video is quite easy. You get a nice display driver, a standard projection device, and you can have a really clear, rich, crisp display. You can see that the video is of high quality by it's color correctness, resolution and what not. But, coming to sound, what is quality sound? I mean sure, you can buy DAC's and monitors, and play FLACs. But what's the difference? Because unlike video, which can be of shitty quality in shitty devices, and high quality in powerful devices, sound can be played on every speaker/audio device.
