I installed a Gustard spdif converter yesterday replacing the original V-Link which topped out at 24/96. I am now hearing mild static at 192hz but not at 44,88,96, or 176.4. The problem is I cannot tell if it is from my MF M1 DAC which I never used at 192hz, or the Gustard. Everything sounds remarkable at anything but 192hz. If I use Audirvana to restrict the signal to 176.4 the noise disappears. Any ideas? I don't have an additional DAC...

Hello fellow nerds, I am thinking about purchasing the ifi-audio iusb. This $200 unit sits between the computer server (Mac-mini or CAPS) and the DAC or "SPDIF converter". It electronically separates the hifi-equipment by injecting its own "clean" +5V USB power, instead of the "dirty" one accompanied by the server USB output. My question is this: Would this unit do a similar job (or produce the same results) as the more expensive option of upgrading the computer power supply to a linear one? Since the iusb is isolating the computer noise, and the SPDIF converter is taking care of jitter, seems kinda redundant to upgrade the power supply on the computer side. Thanks

Hello, Is it possible to run Allo Digione autonomously as i2s to SPDIF converter? I'm wondering if I could feed digione with power supply, I2S_BLCK, I2S_LRCK, and I2S_DOUT taken from separate device and convert it to spdif without involvement of raspberry? Have anyone ever tried that? I'm interested in performing modification of minidsp DDRC-24 described here: https://imgur.com/gallery/kblEy and use my Allo digione as i2s>spdif converter instead of buying a new device.

View Classified Matrix Audio X SPDIF- 2 I am the original owner, and no longer have the server I used it with. I was surprised by the benefit it added. COMES WITH ORIGINAL BOX! It is in very good condition, but does have some very light marks, and missing one of the little black stick-on feet on the bottom, which I replaced with a clear one. No big deal. ;). Peal it off and put a different one on if you want/. They are just the little rubber feet you get at the hardware store. New price is $439.
