Hi all, I haven't posted since this forum moved so hello again! I'm hosting a barbecue on Saturday that is likely to go on well into the night, so I have compiled a playlist of approximately 10 hours of music. I want to make sure that if I need to stop the playback and start it again, I don't want to hear the same tracks already played recently. In conclusion, I'd like to create a Smart Playlist that will only show songs that haven't been played in the last 6 hours. Unfortunately, the "Last Played not in the last" shortest option is 1 day. I considered the "Limit to XX items selected by least recently played" option, however that will mean the music will be skewed towards music I haven't listened to for the longest, which is not what I want, because that ends up grouping lots of a similar artist together and it won't feel very random. I tried entering a fraction for number of days, but it doesn't allow that. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get this to work? Thanks!

Hello, I've been trying to recreate something I used to be able to pull off with an older iTunes version, but that I can't seem to be able to with this one. I'd like for My Top Rated smart playlist to organise the tunes by rating, as opposed to the alphabetical order in which it is organized now. This is driving me crazy. Please help me!

Some smart lists do not sync properly
Robert Melczarek posted a topic in iTunes and Everything Apple
After syncing multiple times, at least one of my smart playlists on my iPhone doesn't match the same playlist in iTunes on my MacBook Pro. I'm not about to try and see which of my 100+ playlists have this problem. There are songs missing from the iTunes version. The songs are on the iPhone, just not listed in the playlist. I tried recreating the same smart playlist from scratch and that didn't help. What's really confusing is that when I view the playlist on my iPhone in iTunes, it does match. Why would the contents of the same playlist look different on my iPhone then in iTunes? -
Hi All, I thought I was being clever recently, but I've hit bit of a snag. I've been borrowing audiobooks form the library and ripping them to iTunes, so that I can listen to them on my phone. In an effort to keep track of how much of each book I have listened to, I made a smart playlist of each book and added the parameter of zero plays. That way, each time my play count goes to 1, the track will disappear. This isn't perfect of course, because play counts take a day or two to sync with iTunes Match, but I figured it was a decent solution. My issue is that when I pull up the playlist on iOS, the tracks are out of order. On the desktop version of iTunes they appear in order as you would expect. Is there a setting that I'm missing to keep them in order on iOS? Thanks, Tony

Hi, I'm using iTunes 12. The Grouping field no longer seems to be included in the Get Info screen for podcasts. I like to have Smart Playlist for podcasts by the type of podcast. In the past, I would assign a podcast to a "Grouping" in the Get Info screen. Grouping examples: Health, Business, News Since the Grouping field can no longer be set, I'm trying to find an alternative. The Sorting field might work fine, but I can't figure out what field in the Get Info screen of the podcast is associated with which "Sort" option in the Smart Playlist dropdown menu. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hello, I created a Smart Playlist using iTunes 12.5.4.42 listing tracks I have not yet listened to (Plays is 0) and View Options (View As: Playlist and Sort by: Date Added). The playlist displays correctly in iTunes with album tracks appearing in the same order as when viewing the album. However, when viewing the same Smart Playlist in Apple Music iOS 10.2, the albums appear in the correct order (Last Added), but the tracks are in random order within Album. This looks like another famous iTunes Playlist bug? Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking of reloading the iCould Music library on my phone but don't think that is the issue. Thanks, Phil
