Hello fellows on Computer Audiophile, I hope that you can help me, to chose the right hardware for me! Today I have a old pc laptop that runs Roon, Signalyst HQPlayer, TIDAL HiFi, (mostly MQA because I have felt in love with it's sound), a NAS with ripped CDs and DSD. But I need new hardware for this, because my laptop singing on it's last chorus! So I wrote to you on this forum, because I believe that here's a lot of experience and knowledge that I shall buy! That full files my needs and can be upgraded when it needs! I can handle a old pc laptop and little more, but I'm not a computer genius . I now how it shall sound! Because I'm a professional musician and studio producer, studio/live engineer so when it comes to sound well we're I'm not lost . But unfortunately for me today, so changed I my "tape boy" against a "computer boy" when the computer, started to be used in the studio . So please come with suggestions on hardware for me! I wish all fellow, well in my case (Computer) Audiophile's a great Sunday. Greetings from String in a sunny ☀️ Sweden.

Dear Audiophiles, I've been using fb2000 for long time, just try HQPlayer for few days. I have a strange problem when playing DSD64 file. - When play on HQPlayer version 2.8.0, uncheck DirectSDM, filter = poly-sinc-short-mp, modulator= DSD5, rate = 5644800 , mode = SDM (DSD), the sound is very good - On the latest version 3.19.1 (same PC) also uncheck DirectSDM, filter = poly-sinc-short-mp, modulator= DSD5, rate = Auto , mode = SDM (DSD), the sound is so terrible. My GPU is nVidia GTX 1060 3GB. Do you know what the problem is and how to solve it?

Hi. Mostly this question is to Miska. Is it possible to get high-fidelity output from HQPlayer via embedded HTTP server? Devialet Phantom can be trivially redirected to play an HTTP stream, with any supported format (FLAC/ALAC/WAV included). The DAC inside is TI PCM1798 and it should accept 192/24 input easily (in fact it plays such FLAC files). So question is whether it's possible to have HQPlayer have internal HTTP webserver which, when queried, answers with FLAC or raw WAV PCM stream at 192/24 such that HQPlayer upconversion can be enjoyed with Devialet Phantom? Thanks! P.S. link to Phantom HTTP redirection trick: Ongoing: Phantom/Dialog/Spark protocol deciphering and development - Page 2

Dear all, I measured my room using REW and created a few filters. I play audio from my PC with Linux Mint 19 into my Cambridge DAC Magic 100. This works fine, however, good equalizers for Linux are rare. I found Signalyst HQ Player and wow, it DOES work. I created a WAV File in REW and set it up with the HQ Player, the sound is so much nicer! However, the player itself is rather "slow". When I have the filters activated, it takes about 8 (!) seconds until I hear sound after I hit play. Same every time I pause, the thing is so damn unresponsive... This cannot be normal, my PC is not that slow. Any idea what could be the cause? Attached you find my settings. Sorry, I am new to it so it might be there are many things wrong. I played around with the buffer but it did not change things at all. I would appreciate any help. If I can solve these problems buying the software seems like a good investment. Are there any other options or software I should check out? Thank you.
