Radio! I discover that Vtuner and TuneIN - the all-catching "aces" of radio streaming - ARE NOT FLAC COMPATIBLE! So, after getting this answer directly from them via email, to play a flac radio stream (Paradise, D-Dur for example) do I necessarily have to rely on an APP like that of BluSound, Lumin and ROON? But will it be true? Is there anything I don't know? Why is this "question" still not publicized (radio flac stream) by streamer producers who insist on writing about TuneIN and VRadio? Thanks, Luca

Just saw this in my feed. I'd once read about large corporations taking control of cinemas, and how hard it was for indie/alternative films to be screened in the US. Now it's the radio... This normalisation of taste and culture by the lowest common denominator is most troubling. Numb, uneducated societies are easy pray for populist politicians... ‘Nobody Is Scrutinizing This’: How Labels Pay to Get Songs on the Radio https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/pay-for-play-how-labels-pay-songs-radio-871457/

I'm sitting here working at home, listening to Seattle's KEXP via the Internet Radio feature in iTunes 12.6 on Windows. I really like the Mini Player view. And I really like album art. I use albumartexchange.com to seek out high res art for all my albums so they look great on the Apple TV. Here is my question - why does iTunes not have album art for Internet Radio streams? I can't stand staring at the default iTunes music note logo in iTunes and on the Apple TV when I'm listening to streams. I came across this article that suggests, back in 2013 Apple was interested in adding radio logos for some service or another. http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/08/05/apple-asks-internet-radio-stations-for-itunes-radio-cover-art But as far as I can tell, nothing has come of it. This thread on the Apple boards suggests adding a dummy MP3, with the art, to iTunes and making an album out of the MP3 and the radio stream. It kind of works. But the art still does not show up in the main iTunes "now playing bar", the mini player, ATV or the iTunes Remote App. (The iTunes Remote App is something that desperately needs help too... https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2681827?tstart=0 Artwork, in general, has taken a real hit in recent iTunes versions. The Artist picture issue is simply awful. Does anyone have any insight into why Apple does not have art for Internet Radio streams? Or any tricks to help? Thanks! -- Bryan

I'm a seventeen-year-old musical escapist, audiophile and aspiring music journalist. I've just set up a blog site (after much time being 'put on the back burner'), which I wanted to feature highly-stylised, compiled podcasts... Basically, I was wondering what programme do you use to upload compiled audio files/data in their lossless format, without compromising on optimal quality? I want to be able to make a radio-style podcast where I can play several audio files in their lossless format. I want to then upload and share this file on Soundcloud or some other audio sharing website, where each track can be listened to in its original, uncompressed glory. Secondary to that, I'd like to know of any programme that I can fade music in and out, and speak over tracks, etc... Just like a traditional radio format I guess, without the cost. I have a Any info/advice would be really appreciated!

AM/FM Radio Tuner with AirPlay
greffter posted a topic in Networking, Networked Audio, and Streaming
I've been searching and searching for an AM/FM radio tuner that will send audio to airplay speakers. I'm hoping I'm just not a great Googler and that this product does exist but I can't seem to find it. Anyone have suggestions for anything (USB device to stand-alone component) that will integrate AM/FM radio signals into a system where two independent sets of speakers are driven from a centralized Mac Mini sending audio over WiFi to two Airport Expresses hooked into separate amplifiers? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Seems to me this is a product category someone should open.....
