Hi, we are excited to announce that SongKong is now available for any Synology Disk Station that supports Docker (i.e Intel based). If you are not aware of SongKong but are aware of Bliss then you could consider SongKong to be similar type of software, although in many ways it is very different. Its focus is automatic matching of your music via AcoustId/MusicBrainz/Discogs, it can then add very detailed (Roon level) metadata and artwork. SongKong provides automatic song identification for your music, identifying songs, adding metadata and artwork, and also deletion of duplicate songs. It also provides manual editing and a completeness report totally free, and the automated matching can be run in preview mode so you can see the exact results. It can be fully controlled via a web-browser making it totally suitable for use on a Synology Disk Station. If you are a QNAP user then we expect to have it working for QNAP very soon. It has been thoroughly tested upon a Synology DiskStation 218+, and full installation instructions are available here

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to upload music files in batches to QNAP's Music Station as opposed to by copying individual files? All my music is in folders according to file type and subfolders according to artist and album. It appears the only way of copying music over is by copying the files as you cannot select folders. It is taking me forever doing it this way. Surely, there must be a quicker way to do this? Additionally, how do I transfer an iTunes library? Also, I am currently doing this over wifi. I tried connecting my hard drive containing my music directly to the USB port on my NAS thinking that would at least speed up one aspect of the transfer, but I can't figure out how do do it this way if anyone knows? Thanks

I have a QNAP HS-251+ NAS and am in the process of transferring my music over to Music Station. My files consist of AIFF, FLAC and DSD's. None of my AIFF's are coming through with the album artwork. Is there a way to fix this within QNAP's Music Station? What do I need to do to get the album art to appear?

What is the optimal way to connect my MacBook Pro to my QNAP HS-210 NAS? Currently I am connected via ethernet (thunderbolt adaptor) to a router, which is connected via ethernet to the QNAP. Would it be better to connect to the QNAP directly via ethernet or USB? (My MacBook does have two USB 3.0 ports, so I suppose it would not conflict to use one USB port for the QNAP and the other for my Teac UD-501). If I connect to the QNAP directly via ethernet, would this preclude connecting the QNAP to the internet for remote access? Secondly, should I add a library manually to JRiver or use the one that automatically appears on the library list? I think I need to maintain two JRiver libraries - one for at-home listening and one for headphone listening on the go - or is there a way to connect to my NAS to JRiver via the internet?

Folks, My recent iTunes library mishap (750 albums deleted) made my decide to build a backup NAS. I now have a QNAP 439Pro (4x1.5,raid5) as prime and a slightly less featured Verbatim Powerbay (4x2Tb, raid0) backup. I found (both are Linux and have a web interface) both allow to configure rsync. I have now configured rsync server & account on the backup NAS and an rsync backup job on the QNAP...And it works... :-) Issue: it takes 72 hours to copy about 3,5Tb of data. That is hardly gigabit.. That was the initial copy. I was glad it worked, so for starters, did not bother to sort that obvious performance issue. I have since shut down the backup NAS, so still need to check up on incremental sync speed. Have googled, but did not find clear answers for such poor performance, other then many small file & related headroom. Any tips what to look for? Other people using QNAP built-in rsync feature? NB.. Both NAS'ses are on gigabit hardwire, however large frame settings did not seem compatible (framesize default values differ)... Thx! Hans
