Arylic Arylic BP50 - Another Jack of All Trades in the post today
DuckToller posted a blog entry in DuckToller's Sonic Encounters
Bonjour encore! (was it Howard Carpendale who did the "denglish" transfer of it?) This morning I received a package from Arylic, again. Another sort of "Jack of All Trades", this time for Bluetooth Audio outside of the recent LDAC and Qualcomm APTx Lossless cosmos. I have agreed to review it bc the promise of it seems to be very interesting for many people looking for a wireless digital solution on a budget suiting existing gear. No high-end guaranteed, only sheer functionality. The device - called BP50 - was sold last week with an "Oktoberfest" Coupon for 79 Euros/USD. Today it is back on the MSRP of 99 Euro/USD, though I have heard that there will be ongoing promotions until Black Friday for the ones that think this device is far to expensive at an almost 3-digit price point. Hint: you can get a 10% welcome bonus on their website anyway. Short summary: I will create a test matrix with the BT/USB/Phono/Digital inputs vs. the BT/analog/digital outputs. Need to check with my neighbour's for the included HDMI Arc function. And have wait to receive my ANC/TWS devices ... nevertheless, that device is a crazy budget for what it aims to offer to us. This is just to offer an impression what you could expect in the class between 80 and 100 Euros ... here are some unpacking pics. Holy driver ... The device can be controlled by a more recent (like brand-new) app called GO, and be fine-tuned through an inhouse windows application called ACP workbench. Or you can use an old-fashioned remote control!-

Hi guys, I currently own a very cheap, thin black 3.5mm to phono cable, which is running between my amp and my Macbook Pro. I think it's probably time to upgrade as there is no reason I should have such a cheap cable in my chain. I'm ideally still looking for a value cable, just one that isn't £1; the max i'd be able to spend is between £15 and £20 but ideal would be £10. Would I notice any discernible difference with a new cable at this price? Also my setup is: Macbook Pro > Audirvana Plus > Fiio E10K > Pioneer A-676 (Old) > Monitor Audio BR2's > BK XXLS400 As you can see it's a fairly basic system. The Fiio is being delivered as I type this and I just didn't want a cable to be holding the whole thing back. Any advice would be welcomed, thanks .

AudioEnz AudioEnz - Plinius 8200 mk2 (In this review, I love the following description of the Plinius} Within lies the toroidal transformer-that-ate-Manhattan, the main contributor to the weight, and a pre-amp derived from the exoticM16 unit that partners Plinius's class A super-amps. This second edition of the 8200 delivers over 175 remote-controlled watts per channel, with maybe the first couple in class A. Switch the unit on, and the blue power indicator flashes slowly to let you know the amp is muted while it settles down for action. Once stabilised, the LED remains on and you're ready to roll.... This amp tolerates no waywardness on the part of your speakers: they will obey. Will plug in a photo once I've figured out how to do so... cosmetically it is in VG/Exc condition
