A la Goodreads, wouldn't it be great if HD Tracks, and now other high res download sites, would integrate a widget so that CA readers could give direct feedback on the product listing page? As with other direct consumer feedback on the internet, I think this would build trust and increase sales. I've certainly held off on buying high res downloads in cases where I couldn't find any feedback. Sure, the duds would loose sales, but sales for great downloads would increase.

Format Comparison - Valerie June
jordesign posted a topic in Music Analysis - Objective & Subjective
When Valerie June's album "Pushin' Against a Stone" came out, I scooped it immediately on iTunes, since I had waited months for this album to "drop"... Then a few days later I see that HD Tracks is selling it in 24/48... Well of course I scooped that up too... Then, I checked her website and lo and behold, they were selling vinyl... Yep, I scooped it up too... Which got me to thinking... Exactly how different are these, especially on my modest equipment... VIDEO TIME!!!! Of course I realize that audio quality is not going to be very discernible being recorded on an iPhone and broadcast on YouTube... But perhaps there may be some value to the exercise to someone, somewhere... Then again maybe not... You can watch the video here and determine for yourself: PS. All things considered my preference is the HD Tracks>AppleTV>Bifrost (yes I know ATVs 16/48 limitation) -
Hi all I was kicking myself, as I just bought the remastered versions of these classic albums on CD at 8US each. Then I thought, hey, the HD Tracks on offer from this week are the OLD masters, not the REMASTERED versions. So, I am wondering what actually HD Tracks got hold of to do these 'HD' tracks. Maybe they are ripped from SACHs? It really annoys me why they don't declare where the masters came from and what state / resolution they are BEFORE that flog these expensive 'hi-resolution' copies. I would not recommend buying any until that was cleared up personally. Kinda like buying a painting without actually viewing it first.... I KNOW the HD versions are the old copies, not remastered, as the extra tracks and demo tracks are not on the albums but ARE on the remasters.
