I have just contacted Bryston asking them whether they plan to implement MQA in their products (DACs) and this is what they replied: "We have no plans to implement a signal changing type feature in Bryston products. We will leave that to other audio companies. [...] Brian." Too bad. I really like their products and I was contemplating buying their BDA-3.

Hi Guys, I am in a little of indecision here, These are the facts, I am the proud owner of a nice silver Bryston BDA-3 DAC, I was using it with a Microrendu, well I decided to start upgrading and it is getting messy, I like my shelves to look nice and also The secret is on simplicity, There are so many parts on a Ultrarendu or sMS-200ultra set up, for example you need an ultrarendu, then a Nice PS then you need a nice Switch then nice Cat7 cables then a NAS and the list keep growing you also need a PC Like the I5 then the itch continues and now you want a Linear PS for the PC and you end up with a bunch of small boxes and wires in your rack. I started evaluating other alternative and a dealer is willing to make a trade of my stuff for a new PS Audio Direct stream dac with the bridge 2 that will make everything way more simple (DAC, NAS and a Switch) but I would like to hear if anyone here have had experience that DAC. I like the Natural/Neutral sound of the BDA-3 but I have no Idea of the sound of the Direct stream DAC. I hope someone can give me some feedback. Best, Eric

I just purchased the hiface1 interface which I have plugged into the back of a mac mini with SL. I've downloaded the software and set my sound output to be the HiFace. I am running it to a Bryston BDA-1 DAC. Software is iTunes with BitPerfect. Is there any other settings I need to set as I am not getting a signal to my DAC? Any help would be appreciated.

SOLD SOLD SOLD Selling this CD player for a friend who just does not want to bother with selling a item. He bought a Bryston BCD 3 directly from a dealer used it for apprx 1 month and it developed an issue. He sent it back to the dealer and was sent this unit directly from Bryston, He told me he barely has 20 hours on this player, I have it in my system but have only played a few disc’s on it as well, as my collection now resides on a hard drive. So this payer may not even be broken in yet. My buddy went with a very pricy CEC belt drive transport over this player. This is a dedicated best we can make says Bryston, 16 bit/44.1kHz 2 channel CD player. It only handles Redbook CD’s of which I’ll bet most of our collections are littered with. It has NO digital inputs but does offer 2 Digital outputs (AES and SPDIF RCA) to send data directly to a DAC if desired. This unit comes with no remote control instead with an Ethernet connection can be controlled through a web user interface that mimics the front panel, I tried it (with my iPad) and it works pretty good. I tried this and it works pretty good. The DAC has 2 AK4490 DAC chips per channel (4 total) working in differential mode. The build quality is excellent as is its sound. Cosmetically the only flaw I can find is on one side panel, it looks like a small dent in the metal plate, not a scratch a depression, it well could have been on the plate before it went through the powder coat process. Have a photo of this posted. Stereophile and Absolute Sound have both reviewed this player and have given it very positive recommendations. Google the player for more specific information. Pricing: MSRP is $3495 and as stated dac has less than 50 hours on it we are asking $2200. willing to split shipping (to Conti US) and paypal fees. Included: CD Player, manual, stock Power cord, original box. (Box dimensions 22x15x7, 15 lbs origin Zip 37923)
