Hey guys I'm just getting into taking my music and listening experiences seriously cause I appreciate what tidal hifi masters has after using a buddy's beats studio 3 ( I know) sorry I'm new to this community and terminology may be wrong but stick with me , I plan on buying the Bowers PX headphones tomorrow and I'm confused which portiable amplifier should I get too enhance the sound quality . I will be using only tidal hifi so if you guys have any tips or suggestions on another headphone similar to the one stated above it would be much appreciated. I will be using the note 9 as my main device. Sorry if I didn't make sense Thanks

Well, the noise floor of 16-bit is -96dB (putting aside that -120dB is achievable in practice with the use of noise-shaping dither). If -96dB were 20% above the noise floor of most equipment, then most equipment would have a noise floor of -115 to -120dB (the former being 96 x 1.2 and the latter being 96 divided by 0.8). Based on measurements of a lot of equipment at sites like audioscience review, very few DACs and virtually no amplifiers are capable of -115dB and pretty much none are capable of -120. And the vast majority of amps fall short of even -96dB, while for DACs -96dB is middle of the pack.

Hi everyone. I'm really not that big in the HiFi or Audiophile area but I already got a pair of Bose 901 from the 80s and thought it would be a waste throwing them away. I know the opinion about these Speakers is divided, I however like them quite a lot. Right now my setup is the following (Pictures attached): 2x Bose 901 Series II including (active?) Equalizer, Technics SU-V10X Amp Magnat Quantum 6725A (plugged in via the remote speaker sockets on the Amp) (and completely irrelevant: The Hitachi PS-38 Turntable) The Equalizer and the Amp are both on 100% "default" settings. So currently the setup still "works" however, the volume shifts without input change, meaning the music gets louder or quieter occasionally without a correlation to other technical systems (TV, iPad, ..) that i was able to observe. Also sometimes there is a very displeasing high pitched noise that is best noticed when the input is turned off (so no music, just the setup running) I'm a total novice in these topics and English is not my native language so if I explained stuff with the wrong vocabulary please feel free to correct me, knowing the proper terminology helps me search more successfully for solutions on the internet Due to the problems with the current setup, I was eyeing with replacing the AMP however I do not want to spend more then 700€ on the replacement if possible. Now my biggest problem so far was, that I could not find any Amp that would allow input and output as the Technics does to include the Equalizer and I have no idea how else to make sure the signal gets properly adjusted. Alternatively I am open for suggestions on how to best utilize the Bose 901 Stereo system if the whole system can be purchased with a reasonable price (<1200€) which includes the Sub woofer if possible. Advice on how to properly set up the equalizer and amp to maximize the 901 would also be appreciated. Thanks for any kind of input in advance

Hello, I have LFD NCSE Mk2 integrated amp and LFD Silver Reference Cable for sale. Lots of rave reviews online for this amp. The LFD NCSE Mk2 amplifiers are each hand-built by Dr. Richard Bews in England. The rear panel has the power plug, 4 speaker binding posts, 5 rca inputs and, in addition, tape in and tape out connections. There is a small scratch on the top panel (as pictured). Other than that, the condition is in 8.5 out of 10. I'm not the original owner but I still have the original box, foam cushion and LFD amp isolation feet and a generic power cable. This amp is unmodded and unrepaired. Everything is original and fully-functional. This amp has been kept in a clean, non-smoking, no pet, household. Together with this amp is LFD Silver Reference Cable (retailed at $2400). I know it's hard to believe but the improvement the sound quality these cables have brought about is bigger than the amp itself. These cables are made from pure silver so the sound is very detailed and subtle yet relaxing, you will hear a lot of nuances in the recordings that you never heard before. The problem with these cables is since they are pure silver, they are very susceptible to bending and breaking in the 8 leadings where they are not protected by thick cover. Probably the LFD designer expected this so he doubled the wire, in case 1 is broken, there is still another one to run. If you look at the pictures attached here, you will see 1 of the 8 leading has a gap. However, there is no effect on the sound quality. I listen to music almost everyday and did not notice any changes in sound quality until last month when I removed them to take pictures. The next user can just leave the gap alone and enjoy the cables like I have been doing or can fix it with some soldering skills. The reason I sell this amp because it has no remote and I recently moved to bigger room so I can't walk to the amp to adjust the volume for each recordings. Also, I just upgraded my speakers to a higher sensitivity one so I am looking for a tube amp and Duelund cables . The price for both NCSE Mk2 amp and LFD Silver Reference Cable is $3500. I'm open to reasonable offer. I will pay Paypal fee. Buyer pays shipping fee. The amp will be doubled boxed when shipped. Thanks for reading.

Hi, I have the same just purchased from Allo: Allo Digione + Raspberry Pi 4 + Volumio 2.713 + Schiit Modi 3 (SPDIF output). The Schitt Modi RCA outputs go to my Sonos Amp, but have tested with another Amp, and get same behaviour. When playing Web Radio on Volumio, with the settings used by the poster above, the sound comes out of my speakers. When I use Airplay from another App on my iOS phone (Amazon Music HD), I see Volumio as speaker for Airplay, but no sound comes out, even if I change volume. Do I have to change some other settings? Thanks!
