I use an allo digione. I have upgraded my OSMC server from Raspberry Pi3 to Pi4 On the PI3 I often had the thermometer on screen display to show the PI was overheating. So for the PI 4 I have mounted a heat sink, which means the Digione HAT can no longer be mounted on the Pi4. I have therefore attached the Digione using the eight cables as shown on the Allo website. Ive triple checked they are all mounted ok. I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be a need to connect power cables but it's > 50 years since my school boy physics However it appears that OSMC isn't recognising /can't find the Digione. Would appreciate some confirmation: Are the 8 cables as shown in the pdf sufficient? Are the 6" individual breakout cables likely to cause a distance problem? Do I really not need to connect power cables? If I do, can I use pins 2 and 14, as 4 and 6 are used by the heatsink fan Do I need to edit config.txt on the OSMC SD card? What would I see on OSMC if the Digione was recognised? At the moment, OSMC gives me 4 choices of audio out which I think are all the same As a helpful tip to any other PI, OSMC user out there . If I use the micro HDMI port further away from the PI USB C power port, the video is washed out and the TV remote doesn't work. If I use the micro HDMI port beside the PI USB C power port, both problems go away. DigiOne-Header-PIN-Out-Details.pdf

I'm facing issue with Allo digione signature, there is no sound out of the BNC out. I'm using a 5V 3A power supply adapter for clean side and another adapter for the dirty side. I was working till yesterday without issues. I tried swapping with other power source(a battery powered), but still no luck. From the UI I see the song is playing but looks like the DAC is not getting any input. Refer to the screenshot below and also the dmesg output. dmesg.txt

Hello, In an effort to improve SQ, I just replaced the Hifiberry DAC+ pro on my Raspberry Pi 3B+ music server with a Allo Digione SPDIF transport , a Topping D50 DAC, and a Signal Cable Silver resolution reference digital coax cable. I am powering the Topping D50 with the iPower wall-wart. My music is stored in FLAC format on a Samsung 860EVO. I use LibreELEC for my operating system. Once I figured out how and what to modify in the config.txt to make it work, there was an obvious improvement in sound quality. Everything just sounds better, period. Now for the problem... The Topping D50 DAC looses lock with the Allo Digione several times per song on many or most songs. The DAC screen actually flashes UNLOCK briefly at the same time the audio output goes to zero. I did not have this issue at all with two different HifiBerry DAC HATs, which makes me think that the quality of my FLAC files is OK. I bought a couple 24/192 FLACs as a test, and I get the same UNLOCK issue with them, so I do not think the files are the problem. I do not have another outboard DAC that accepts RCA Coax digital cable, so I can't just swap and see if that helps with the UNLOCK situation. Trying the different DAC filter settings did not seem to help any. The DAC, transport and cable are all new, so they can be returned, but I do not like to scattergun it and just replace everything, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Best Regards, Bil Sheckler

Hello, I have an Allo Digi One Signitaure with SpdIf output. I am running Volumio as a server on it. With Volumio it is possible to to run Tidal as an add on. An with Tidal comes MQA masters. The question is is that MQA requires to be sent over USB and the Allo Digi One Signature doesn't have USB but the Rasp Pi does. My question is, is it possible, with my set up to listen to Tidal and particularly MQA files with an MQA unfolding DAC? Any solutions out there? Thanks, Nevica

Hi, I have the same just purchased from Allo: Allo Digione + Raspberry Pi 4 + Volumio 2.713 + Schiit Modi 3 (SPDIF output). The Schitt Modi RCA outputs go to my Sonos Amp, but have tested with another Amp, and get same behaviour. When playing Web Radio on Volumio, with the settings used by the poster above, the sound comes out of my speakers. When I use Airplay from another App on my iOS phone (Amazon Music HD), I see Volumio as speaker for Airplay, but no sound comes out, even if I change volume. Do I have to change some other settings? Thanks!

I just purchased a new Allo Digione and installed the latest Volumio on my Raspberry Pi 4. Under playback options I only can choose None or Software for volume control. How do I get hardware volume control working? I use volume control in my system via Volumio and want the highest possible sound quality. My previous XMOS XU208 USB to SPDIF converter worked fine with Volumio and hardware mixer.
