  1. Chris Is it safe to assume from your comments that you have a different opinion of the LCD-XC headphones that you own? Chris
  2. Hopefully, as Qobuz works its way through the Beta process towards a 1.0 version, these types of issues will get resolved. I agree with you and would love to see a list of new Classical releases on the front page. Right now, I do a lot of searching.
  3. On the Qobuz site when I searched and clicked on the album
  4. I have now listened to both the Gilels and Ashkenazy versions and both are very good. Ashkenazy has tremendous power in his playing that matches the style of the conductor very well.
  5. What is your favorite version of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 (Emperor)?
  6. As a hobbyist convert to Leica (from Canon and then Sony a7rII), I do see the differences in the Lens capability - I have about $30,000 invested in lenses. As for hardware, Range Finders are fun to use, but the new Sony's are feature rich. And at current prices, my investment in camera equipment far exceeds my investment in audio. Though, here is a link for $2,000 off the Hasselblad x1d http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2018/01/09/2000-off-of-the-hasselblad-x1d-black-kit-with-45mm-lens/
  7. This is an amazing album https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000061G0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and this collection as well https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N9MWVVW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Chris
  8. It will be exciting. 9. I am planning to attend. Any other CA members planning to attend? Chris
  10. Agreed, but don't you think that the 2L files from their site and Tidal shoudl be somewhat consistent? Even if they are not, the 2L testbench files include practically every format including MQA.
  11. Are you using the software to decode MQA or do you have an MQA DAC?
  12. My testing approach (almost complete) is to use the 2L recordings on Tidal and the 2l Testbench (where they overlap) for comparisons. Both sets will be run via various setups - MB Pro and Explorer2 DAC using Tidal APP and Audirvana (both software and hardware decoding), round 2 will add Woo Audio WA-8 to the mix; MB Pro and Mytek Brooklyn DAC + Woo Audio WA-8 or Taboo MKIII Amp using Tidal APP and Audirvana (both software and hardware decoding). Will post my conclusion when completed. So far, I get the comments made around MQA being brighter with some more clarity, but to me it seems to lose warmth and tends to sound more digital. Chris
