  1. Only on an audio site can one read about the Lord, Donald Trump and man made climate change while discussing the Regen and related components. Gentlemen, no matter your stance, this is a microcosm of our society. Sharply divided by anger, fear and ignorance. Carry on.
  2. Superdad: Few have ever cranked up a going concern from nothing and grown it over a number of years, iterations, new product development and roll out, managing cash flow, distribution, taxes etc. I have used your product and I like it. I can here the difference. I own 4 Dacs and all of them sound better "to me".But my real point here is a rather simple but an oft overlooked one. The real power in any business is to be at a point where you can choose who you will do business with. Congratulations. You are there. I wouldn't do business with anyone who wished me and my company harm. It doesn't matter who is right and who is wrong. That is 3rd grade stuff. What truly matters in life is what is right....and what is wrong. And furthermore, just because someone has the right to be an ass doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. Carry on.
  3. There have been a few new issues of the Saint Saens 3rd Violin concerto over the last few yearsbut this one still stands out to me.
  4. There are many great recordings. For some of the younger fellows this 30 year old recording deserves a listen. One of the greatest piano performance of my life time.
  5. Go to Plug Ins in Pure music. All be aware that the Musicserver has separate settings.
  6. Go to Plug ins in Pure Music....it's all there.
  7. I have a few dacs, but am using the ifi Nano presently with the referenced software. I am having no issues with basic settings and the A7 filter @ DSD 256. Just excellent. As an addendum, the wifi Nano never ceases to amaze me. I had the Micro DSD in last week for an audition and while it is different having a little more weight, I prefer the Nano.
  8. Hi rw: I own the Regen, the RUR and the Intona. The one thing I can tell you is that the Intona, by itself and as a single box between the computer and the dac, has the best positive effect on the music. There are numerous threads about each of these. There is one thread here referencing the Intona at an 'audio society' meeting in which they used the Intona on numerous dacs and it improved the sound of each one, much to the surprise of the membership. I am presently experimenting with feeding the Intona with the RUR. The Regen has been retired. I respectfully disagree on 'RE's' curated threads. The purpose is not to control opinion but to stay focused on one theme concerning one product. All opinions, pro or con, are welcome. I think you can understand that there is a lot of rambling in many of the threads here at CA. RE's interest is to focus us on one theme, one product or one perspective. He cares not what one's opinion is. He simply requires focus and thought on the particular forum. There is nothing invalid in this approach.....and it stops the rambling. All this being said, I have no dog in the fight. I do not know RE personally and have interacted with him only once since I joined in 2010. Blessings to you. Paul
  9. I am not sure if that question was directed to me or to another. My answer would be that on my playback side the Regen is retired. I am feeding the Intona with a signal processed through the RUR VIA Curious cables. The experience at this time is that the sound I get from the Intona alone is superior to the RUR alone. Consequently, after the RUR fully breaks in I will determine if it enhances the Intona or not. The Intona is my gold standard. It stays....no matter what else developes. Thx, Paul
  10. Hi Westy, i concur about the Intona. It is, at this point superior sounding to the RUR. The RUR is superior sounding compared to Regen. All compared with the same curios cable .8 meter and Curios Regen link (8"). I am curious to here the RUR after 100 hours. I only have 28 hrs on it presently. Thx, Paul.
  11. Hi Westy: Too soon to make any subjective opinions as my RUR only has about 12 hours of music through it. What I can say is that the Intona alone between my computer and dac was the finest sounding 'box' I have ever had in my system. The music was clear and alive...with details present that were like new discoveries of old familiar recordings. I can also say that I agree that my system sounded different when I move the Intona to the position where it was feeding the RUR versus the opposite of the RUR feeding the Intona. I will be able to tell more after some hours on the Intona. I do know this....every system is different, Every room is different. Every set of ears/expectations/preferences is different. You know the results you are getting and you will make the choices that maximize results in your listening to your system in your room ! Trust your ears and your perceptions. ps: I just changed my system set up to Computer-Curious-RUR-curious-Intona-genric 6 inch cable-dac. It does sound better this way....at least for now. You are correct in your statement about the reverse set up sounding closed in...at least in my opinion.
