  1. Basic advantage of a solid state drive is to avoid mechanical drive movements (seek time) though, so with an old tech SATA SSD you have that covered.
  2. I bought a Tascam CD-200 a couple of years ago to replace "Skippy", that was 20 years old, both just used as transports after getting a standalone DAC. I do take the analog outs, and use that signal to compare to the DSP'ed in-room measurements, because my preference is to measurably reproduce in the room what's on the disk (to the extent that that is possible).
  3. By Manfred Mann--Blinded By the Light, Spirits in the Night and For You (Springsteen) Mighty Quinn and Shelter From the Storm (Dylan) Play With Fire (Stones) By Type O Negative --Summer Breeze (Seals & Croft) By Taste of Honey---Sukiyaki (Kyu Sakamoto)
  4. Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago. 'Blindsided' for the melancholy, and 'Re:Stacks' - ''l'll keep throwing down 200 at a time'' for the ah-f**k-it! The Album Leaf - In A Safe Place. Just very nice electronic music that'll help see in the early hours.
  5. For Setup. Ballad of.the Runaway Horse.Rob Wasserman Jennifer Warnes.For Acoustic Bass.Brian Bromberg. Wood 1 or 2.
  6. I use NAD HP50 at work. First closed headphone I tried that doesn't sound like a can.
  7. Surfin' USA, or "Floyd" by Lynyrd skynyrd. The intro to "Floyd" reminds me of driving through the desert with tumbleweed blowing and heat mirages on the road.
  8. Quadrophenia. The Who. Just rolling up to the end of Love Reign O'er Me. Then, I think, I'm heading for a selection of Hungarian music for cello and piano.
