  1. Dear all: Wanted to give a couple of reports: Tried the eR with stock SMPS vs. LPS 1.2 (both with the Shunyata Venom V14 Digital cable), and there is a SMALL but noticeable benefit with the latter. Ever so slightly more dynamic. I have all Wireworld Starlight (from eR to outlet and eR to SonicTransporter i5 on the A side, from B side to my UltraRendu), and I can say they sound terrific in my system -- better than the Shunyata Venom or the AQ Vodka, both of which I demoed earlier. I'm curious about the SOTM CAT 7 though. For those powering the eR via the LPS 1.2 or another "floated" supply, I'm curious: how have you handled grounding? Here's what I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HKJNF1K?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PQZTCHT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Seems to work just fine. Big thanks also to Alex for offering setup advice! And kudos to all at UpTone for their amazing products (I also own the JS2, which powers my UltraRendu/Brooklyn DAC+).
  2. Just want to add my two cents on the EtherREGEN. I got in the first batch, and it replaced my NETGEAR GS105/iFi Power. Here's my system: SonicTransporter i5 (with external SSD) > ER > UltraRendu > Brooklyn DAC+ > Focal Clear/MrSpeakers AEON Flow (1st Gen) Power: JS-1 (SonicTransporter/DAC +) w/ Shunyata Venom HC (Venom Defender in receptacle), LPS 1.2 (UR) w/ Sonore DC-4 Other cables: DanaCable TruStream USB, Black Dragon/Black Dragon Premium headphone cables, Wireworld Starlight Ethernet throughout In my experience everything matters, but the EtherREGEN matters more than almost any component I've added/updated. I can't believe how full and detailed the sound now is--how much I can now hear the shape of each voice/instrument, and appreciate the miking/mixing, in each recording. And in my system, the ER smoothed out after burn-in, but the detail was there from the get-go.
  3. I had my Brooklyn DAC+ hooked up to an SBooster BOTW Ultra MK II, which sounded pretty damned good. But I recently bought an UpTone JS-2, to power both my DAC and my SonicTransporter i5. I have to say, there's no comparison between the two--with the JS-2 powering the DAC, there's: a) less noise/top-end harshness, and b) a more holographic sound. I only had to listen to a few notes of these test tracks: Todd Rundgren, "Marlene" (96/24) Minnie Ripperton, "Perfect Angel" (192/24) Elvis Costello, "(I Don't Want to Go to) Chelsea" (192/24)
  4. My pleasure, and MUCH thanks for the in-depth conversation. Very useful--and can't wait to get my JS-2/see what everyone's saying . . .
  5. I'm thinking about purchasing a JS-2 to power both a BROOKLYN DAC+ and a SonicTransporter i5--any thoughts/issues? Thanks.
  6. Much thanks--you did indeed, and then some! And counting down the days for the launch . . .
  7. Been fun to follow this thread--I too have been eagerly awaiting the EtherREGEN. I'm wondering about the SMPS provided--would you suggest it be plugged straight into the wall, as you do with the SMPS you send along with the LPS 1.2? And still interested in whether or not an LPS makes a difference. Thanks.
