Ahh okay seems like i have a UTP cable then.

i don't have any problems with audio i'm just wondering what type of network cable i should use as the switch/modem is on a different ac circuit than the naa is on, there's no marking indicating if it's a UTP/STP cable on the one i currently use.

@Miska what ethernet cable do you recommend for a NAA, i'm currently unsure if my existing cable is UTP or STP, would fibre ethernet converter also help, or is that overkill?

Seems that 3700x can also do EC7 DSD256 with only 4 SMT threads selected when corepinning is disabled with 4.2.1

Yeah ext2.is very good for 44/48 though it sounds kind of flat when compared to ps-long, or closed-form, I wish there was a filter that did both...

Has anyone who's using the ext2 filter noticed that the soundstage is more forward compared to poly-sinc/poly-sinc-long which sounds deeper, and a little more distant?

Interesting RME has released a new revision of the RME ADI-2 DAC featuring a AKM4493, and i believe a modified analog output stage, seems like availability will be around December.

I don't think my switch has this capability it's just a unmanaged one.

Idk but internet download speeds seem.more stable this way, when doing speedtests I usually get around 500-550mbps, but with HQp sending on the same NIC speeds frequently drop to 300mbps even when 1gbit full duplex is used.

@Miska is it maybe possible add a option for manually inputting NAA, as for some reason when running NAA locally via 2 NICs one for internet other for NAA, HQp doesn't detect the NAA unless I plug in the Ethernet cable from the router into the switch, select the NAA then unplug, and connect to second NIC again.

I can confidently say it's somehow broken then as manually selecting cores in 4.1.0.1 I have no dropouts, while anything.over it especially 4.2.0 with core pinning disabled has.very frequent.dropouts if I wish I could just continue to use Linux but there's windows only software that I use, and I would somehow need to rename the paths of over 100+ m3u8. Files to be compliant with the HDD address Linux uses. The IPC of 3700x should be equivalent to a 5ghz 9900k though so I think the CPU is powerful enough, just crippled by software aka windows.

Hmm seems like HQplayer for me maxes out at around 4-5 cores. As CPU usage is around 23-25%, I know the problem with dropouts is somewhat related to windows thread scheduling as 4.2.0 works perfectly with Linux 18.04

Why does it seem to use SMT threads then if the 3700x is a octacore CPU? I don't really get it tough if I disable core pinning, and manually select 4 cores behaviour should be the same as 4.1.0.1 correct? I wonder if you will have the same problems with 3950x even if it has 16 cores I don't think HQplayer scales with more than 4-5

why does windows suck so much at fundamental things like thread scheduling/io.... just tried out linux 18.04 no dropouts there.

In my case 4.2.0 is worse in threading behavior, it seems to be mostly stuck to smt threads leading to overload 100% thread usage leading to dropouts.
