  1. Wow! What a Great article! As an Oppo 205 owner and someone with many many hundreds of SACDs, I found this very interesting! May have to investigate the denafrips dacs (always have salivated at the reviews of them) to try this out! Any similar solutions to extract the multichannel layer off of the SACDs to a higher quality multichannel DAC (without some semi-elaborate process of ripping them/iso files)? I enjoy both 2 channel and the multichannel sacds (esp for classical music). thanks! Doug
  2. Thanks Bob! That worked perfectly! The new filters sound great! Appreciate the fast and spot on assistance from this great community! doug
  3. Greetings, Long time off/on HQPlayer user who mostly uses ROON but sometimes uses both...anyways, I wasn't super satisfied w/my attempts at convolution using REW so had Thierry make me some filters via his fab HAF Service/Company. Dead simple to get going in ROON and sounds great. I was trying to get them going in HQPlayer and can't figure out what needs to be manually typed into the Matrix Pipeline. His screenshot is simple appearing but with a Mac it seems "harder". What I typed in doesn't work...it just seems to hang just before I hit play. I unable Matrix Pipeline (and therefore deact
  4. Ah! Yep you are correct! My mistake and thank-you for that eloquent explanation! This makes sense! It is too bad that the micro line cant have both the “cookies and the cream”...an either or proposition it would seem for now! thanks Doug
  5. Greetings! I already submitted a trouble ticket (and promptly received a response—on Easter Sunday!). But this bug is significant enough so that it should be posted on the forum as some folks may want to hold off on the update until this gets sorted out. As discussed in the official thread for the MQA update you do indeed lose the DSD 512 capability for example a iDSD micro DAC. However I updated via Mac and connect to a mac via USB and use the Audirvana (and Roon) software. not only did I lose DSD 512 I also seem to have lost DSD 256. Now my dac only shows as dsd 128 max capable in both audi

  7. Happy Thanksgiving! I received the new iso-regen yesterday. I am powering it c the LPS-1. I definitely can appreciate the improvement in sound quality over the prior USB regen as well as my wyred recovery. I don’t currently have my microrendo in the set up. I’m still not convinced I like the sound with it in there but may explore have both the iso-regen and Microrendu at some point but would need another linear power supply. My concern or question is with the USBPC adapter that came with the iso-regen. Whenever I try to connect it my computer a Mac Mini,I no longer can see my DAC which is a n
  8. Wow thanks for the information about this. I just receiver my micro rendu this week and so far I really enjoy it. Adding this airplay functionality to my system upstairs away from my home theater now allows me to listen to the Berlin Philharmonic broadcasts on my main hi-fi and the sound is really amazing considering the source! What a great little device! I don't see any mismatch between the audio and video if I am watching the broadcast on my iPad while listening on the hi-fi. Although for my system upstairs I'm probably just going to be listening rather than trying to watch.
  9. Just wanted to say I just replaced my Regen with a Recovery and was immediately impressed c the results!!! Larger soundstage, deeper bass, more detail, more "live" quality to the sound. I am esp impressed how much better Tidal HiFi streams sound. My set up: mac mini (2012 16GB RAM, music files on Lacie Thunderbolt ext drive attached) running ROON Server controlled from iPad Pro, Oyaide D USB cable from Mac to the Recovery (using Regen power supply) direct to iFi Micro DSD to onkyo nx 9007 in bridge mode/pure audio setting via Audioquest cinnamon RCAs out to Vandersteen Model 2 via Kimber Cable
  10. Thank you both for taking so much time to respond to my post. I secretly follow along in a lot of threads on both computer audiophile and roon so know how much u both know about the programs. My calibration mic should arrive on Fri so likely will compare the free trials of both before diving in. I do have a fair number of DSD but mostly on SACD and relatively fewer DSD downloads...confident Roon will remedy to native DSD eventually or via HQplayer integration down the line...have Puremusic, JRMC, Audirvana and Roon so would love to stick c Roon for the UI and my subscription...on my system onl
  11. Greetings, I have a lifetime subscription to Roon. I really enjoy the software. I've been debating about adding room correction software to my mac to see if i can squeeze a bit more out of my system. I noticed that Amarra is having a Black Friday sale and all of their programs are half off. I was debating about purchasing a Amarra symphony with iRC but wasn't sure if it was compatible with Roon. Currently I am running Roon server on a mac mini c files on an external thunderbolt drive to an iFI IDSD Micro DAC to an Onkyo AV receiver using the analog inputs in Pure Audio (bypass) to Vandersteen
