  1. GAIA REVIEW UPDATE: I’ve promised that I will report my findings after Gaia settles a little bit in my system. I am only at one third of burn in time period (roughly 300 hours is recommended by Denafrips), but I just can’t resist to share that sound quality of GAIA is still improving. As I wrote before, initial impression was very good, but just after a week of continual using I am really impressed. It is almost unbelievable how big improvement can this DDC bring to already decent digital setup (Aurender N100H streamer + Simaudio Moon 380D dsd DAC). What I wrote before is still
  2. Hi Richard. Frankly, sound is quite good when Aurender goes directly to Moon DAC, but best sounding input on Moon is AES/EBU, and I wanted to use it. I decided to go for Gaia DDC for several reasons. First of all, my budget for sound improvement in my setup is limited. So going for noticeable higher streamer or DAC model is not an option right now (price increase on models I like is too high, way beyond Gaia budget). On my Moon 380D DAC USB is not best sounding input and USB output on Aurender N100H is not best usb output out there (compared to higher Aurender model for example).
  3. Gaia is at home! Gaia has replaced my previous (pretty good for the money) Matrix Audio X-Spdif 2. Mainly use as USB to AES/EBU conversion from Aurender N100H to Simaudio Moon 380D DSD dac. Just first impression (right out of the box, after just one hour of listening): - impressive compared to X-Spfif 2 - sound is more airy, more analog like - deeper, more holographic soundstage - more realistic voices Will update my findings after couple of days...
  4. OK, sounds reasonable. I was just little bit confused by photos online, where there is on/off symbol on some, while “setup” label on others under the same Gaias button. So there must have been some reason Denafrips changed this button.
  5. One technical question. Iris and Gaia has no on/off (or standby) button? If it is so, why? Just waiting for my Gaia (should arrive in few days) and noticed this from the photos.:-)
  6. Thanks for info and teaser, geat news!
  7. As far as I know, there is still no iPhone version of Conductor app (checked on Appstore right now). Just for iPad. Maybe it finally is considered, but I have read somewhere, that this option was not even planned. Any new info? AriMargolis?
  8. N100H is on warm side, thats true. What usb cable do you have? I've tried 5-6 decent cables until I found neutral one. (I have Siltech Anniversary usb cable now). Additional way to reduce warmth is using good anti-vibrating footers, but not soft types. Finite Elemente Ceraball (new version) worked under mine N100H exactly the way you are seeking. It is fine tuning though, but audible difference towards more neutral sound.
  9. Haha, I was just in the middle of replying what to do! Simple, isn't it?
  10. Me too. Who knows, maybe Aurender changed default status for this option then.
  11. 🙂 Maybe thats because it seems to be default option hidden in iPad settings...
  12. See AriMargolis post above. There is iPad settings menu (under iPad "settings" app) where you can turn it off.
  13. X-SABRE Pro is an MQA-enabled DAC which can fully decode the original MQA files without any assistance from third party software (MQA Core Decode). X-SABRE PRO (MQA) used the ES9038PRO advanced 8-channel D/A chip, and its inner DSP unit and analog circuit have the high performance and better user experience. The new generation XMOS XU216 USB asynchronous transfer interface and new AK4118 S/PDIF receiver chip, with powerful computing performance and multi-channel processing performance, make X-SABRE Pro (MQA) has excellent digital audio conversion capability. 14. Powerful true digital amplifier with built in room correction and streamer. With extreme audio processing options combined with the most powerful and advanced digital amplifier technology, the TDAI-3400 is the most powerful product from Lyngdorf Audio yet marketed. Through the web interface you can perform all setup and operations from the menu system, which allows you to tailor your setup and sound, and the digital crossover allows 3 individual output settings. With our proprietary RoomPerfectTM room-correction software to eliminate the negative influence of the listening room, t
  15. The newly designed USB Audio Class 2.0 asynchronous digital interface X-SPDIF 2, inherited the excellent quality from its last generation. You can connect the digital audio stream receive devices through the newly added IIS port, to avoid the loss caused by digital signal protocol conversion. X-SPDIF 2 built-in high-quality femtosecond clock and FPGA processing unit, it can playback up to 32bit/768kHz PCM audio stream and 1bit/22.4MHz DSD audio stream. 16. After I had updated Conductor app to 3.4 today, every time I am adding track to queue, my iPad mini (iPad mini 5 on latest firmware) did quite loud click/tick sound regardless of iPad volume setting. Only complete mute (silent mode) helps. Is this normal behavior, os is it bug?
  17. My UltraCap LPS 1.2 arrived yesterday, plugged in just for few hours, no critical listening so far. I have also ordered ISO REGEN from MetaWave! Can’t wait to start experimenting with both in my setup. I have few questions: 1. Do longer DC cable from LPS (1m) degrade sound quality? Supplied DC cable is not long enough for ideal placement of audio gear in my rack. Considering buying 1m MCRU Audio Grade Kimber DC Power Cable. 2. How long does it take for LPS 1.2 to reach its optimal performance (burn in period)? And is it necessary to play music during burn in, or just
  18. I've checked sw version today and measured display timeout when going to sleep mode. My N100H sw version is 5.18.125. Display goes to sleep exactly after 3 minutes when playing from Spotify. Spotify playback display (before sleep) and software version page screenshot from Conductor see photo attached.
  19. ...not at home right now, but for sure I have latest up to date firmware version for N100H (checking once a week for update). Will report exact number tomorrow. Anyway, that behavior checked several times today. At the beginning of Spotify playback display is ok (with nice green Spotify logo in it), but after timeout (guess about 3 minutes) display goes to sleep/off. When playing (most of the time) from internal hdd, everything is OK.
  20. Today I tested streaming Spotify on my Aurender N100H. Everything worked fine, but after while of playback Aurenders display goes black (same as if no music is playing). Front display is set to “on” while playing in the settings. How can I set display “on” also for Spotify playback?
  21. Hi all, I've just ordered UltraCap LPS-1.2 at MetaWave (closest dealer to Slovakia). Can't wait to plug it into my Matrix S-Spdif 2 in following audio setup: Aurender N100H streamer > Siltech Classic Anniversary USB cable > Matrix X-SPDIF 2 > Wireworld Micro-Platinum Eclipse 8 AES/EBU > Lyngdorf TDAI 3400 > Siltech Classic Anniversary 330L cables > Diapason Adamantes III 25th speakers Decided after extensive research on net, reading reviews, compared various linear power supply types, technology used etc. UltraCap LPS-1.2 wins for me in following fields: -clev
  22. I am using newest Conductor app on iPad mini 2, everything works fine.
  23. looking forward to your N100H/ N100C comparison results. I am also very curious how N100H works with Singxer SU-1 converter. I am going to purchase similar XMOS based converter (maybe the same Singxer model) to extend my Aurender N100H connection options. As USB to AES/EBU converter mainly. I am curious if it works without any compatibility issues (because on PC you have to install some drivers, so I am curious how it works with Aurender directly without drivers involved…).
