  1. Highresaudio offers the sets for €30 (day 1) and €45 (days 2&3) in 24/48 stating that the 24/96 material they had received from the publisher appears to be upsampled from "native" 48khz material, https://www.highresaudio.com/
  2. just found that the stream can still be played - its a 3 hour stream containing 3 sets - the first 20 min or so are silent
  3. Soundwise the whole box set is truly amazing. Too bad they don't apply the same high quality process to all of their releases where multi-track tapes exist. And too bad owners of the 3/29 show cannot "upgrade" to the whole set.
  4. I have to almost fully agree here. This show also is part of a set consisting of eight GD shows from spring 1990, "mixed from the master 24-track analog tapes by Jeffrey Norman" - they all sound great. The full set is available from dead.net in 24/192 FLAC labeled "Spring 1990 - The Other One". Contenders for "best live concert recording" IMHO include Patricia Barber: Companion.
  5. Specs look promising, supports 11.2 MHz DSD and 384 kHz PCM via USB, and 5.6 MHz DSD / 192 kHz PCM via Ethernet NT-503 | TEAC
  6. Speaker and/or room correction or a one-box Aries/Vega
  7. Just noticed that dead.net now offers HD FLAC downloads - unfortunately without being specific about the exact resolution. The Branford show its $24.98, all eight shows of the TOO box set are $199.98.
  8. dead.net states "mixed from the master 24-track analog tapes by Jeffrey Norman at Bob Weir's TRI Studios". IMO Mr Norman did a great job - this is by far the best sounding release of the many available from that period. Looking forward to the HD flac option announced for the end of the month.
  9. Just noticed that the HDtracks 24-96 version is 7.86 GB while the ProStudioMasters is "only" 7.26 GB. This may of course be the result of different FLAC compression levels - any insights, where FLAC conversion happens?
  10. I wonder if Time Out Of Mind is still available, a search on HDtracks was unsuccessful …
  11. just curious: will Munich also see the other new models announced at CES ?
  12. Here is the Audacity spectrum of Holly Cole Night track 1 (2xHD version sold as 24-96). Not very convincing, IMO.
  13. If that's is the idea and the process I find it confusing that the Arioli comes in 24/44.1 while the Cole comes in 24/96.
  14. Just noticed some new 2xHD offerings from eclassical, including - Holly Cole - Night - Susie Arioli - Night Lights - Susie Arioli - All the Way and several other 2xHD remasters. Unfortunately there is no information other than "24bit Flac" about download format, recording format, or transfer process of these albums which IMHO sound quite good in CD format already. Any ideas what to expect?
