hi every one,

 

just a silly question, i m new to mac and hi fi, i just bought a macbook white, as far as i understood to get 24/96 to the nova i need to connected Through the optical out on the Nova, so my question is, the optical on my mac is the headphone socket???

yes, it is the headphone socket for toslink out. You will need an adapter or preferably the correct cable with the apple mini jack. I recommend using glass, not plastic.

You will need a mini plug (the mac headphone socket side) to toslink (the standard optical side that plugs into the Nova) cable.

thanks for your advice,the link you posted there are 2 glass cable, witch is the right one?? also by any chance you know any other company that sell similar cable in Europe, i live in Italy and if i buy things from USA i ll have to pay custom duty, thanks a lot again

That looks like what you want. You never know until you try it. I am using one at the moment that I bought for $8 on Amazon and now it goes for $2.30 and I would say it is about 90% as good as a $70 glass toslink I was using.
