wgscott
I just updated to 10.5.2. Amongst the changes: iTunes 10.5.2 includes several improvements for iTunes Match and fixes an audio distortion problem when playing or importing certain CDs. Link to comment
mwheelerk
Had you noticed any playback issues with imported CDs with 10.5.1? I had not. "A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open." Frank Zappa Link to comment
wgscott
No, but I think I only ripped one CD. Aqualung. I might re rip it and convert old and new to wav and checksum them. Link to comment
mwheelerk
I would be interested in the results. Do you think the issue might have only been with CDs that had been imported using 10.5.1 or could the playback issues have also been with CDs imported in previous versions of iTunes and played with 10.5.1? I ask because after making my first post I thought of some anomalies I heard a couple of times recently that I hadn't thought about. I wonder if they are related to that issue. I remember one of the cuts. I think I will play it back again but I am not sure that would prove anything now (I downloaded 10.5.2 also) other than I have a bad file if it happens again. wgscott
I don't know. This was the first I ever heard of any problem with iTunes ripping. Link to comment
Bob Stern
Were the bad rips subtle or obvious? If anyone hears any further details, please report here. I'd hate to re-rip numerous CD's. wgscott
This is the usual Apple cryptic communication. I think I need to get rid of the Bakunin avatar. Link to comment
