Digital Transporters: Why?

Hi

What exactly does something like the Trends transporter do? I now use either a Benchmark DAC1 or a Cambridge Audio DAC Magic with a MacBook Pro. The sound is OK, as far as I can tell. How would the addition of a Trends transporter in the signal chain make the sound better?

It simply expands your output options from your computer. For example, most older PCs don't have digital outputs, so instead of buying a soundcard with a digital out, you can just get the trends ud 10.1. It will only improve your sound if it introduces less jitter than the other digital out options.
