fas42
Ran the whole album at immersive, room pulverizin' levels - as a test. No problems ... was bought by Bev, way back from seeing them live, when busking - best she's ever heard it, . AnotherSpin 1 Link to comment

sphinxsix
After 42 years (the analogue is still in the garage!) I've got a new reference version of one of the worst produced and at the same time important albums in history. Still fun to listen to! 😎 (24-88) Link to comment
sphinxsix
A great example of my typical music day 😎. First Dead Kennedys remix, next Maria Joao Pires concert (great Debussy, why has she never recorded his solo piano stuff.?!) and now I'm going to play some hip hop (?) poetry (?) electro (?).. dunno.. What I know is that for me it's a brilliant album! Their name is Kae Tempest (24-96). Link to comment

My daughter is studying fungi right now in 5th grade, so we listened to this NPR bit, then played the album on the way to school this morning :~) Jud and AnotherSpin 1 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

Popular Post Jud
One of the reasons I moved to this little place is because it has a concert series. It's held in the largest venue in town, which might hold a couple of hundred folks. They even set up folding chairs on stage, which is where I like to sit. So about 3 years ago I found myself sitting about 15 feet from Haochen Zhang, a Van Cliburn Gold Medalist, as he played the piano. Now BIS has him playing the 5 Beethoven piano concertos, and at a screaming discount, so of course I had to have it. The Philadelphia Orchestra here is wonderful. What about Zhang? He's so incredibly gifted that a lot of this sounds easy for him. Technically it's a tour de force; I'd personally prefer a touch more expressiveness. But still, worth checking out. One more note: I screwed up and bought the lower resolution when I meant to buy the higher one (which is currently the same price as the Redbook at eclassical.com). With remarkable promptness customer service at eclassical corrected my error for me, while being apologetic for my trouble at my screwup. Customer service does not get any better. Popular Post muski
Full album released today. Thematically a little different from his other albums. And every piece is recorded twice—once on a grand and once on a close-mic'ed felted upright. Seems odd at first, but actually really interesting and enjoyable. https://open.qobuz.com/album/qjcmtbtyj1yqc WAM, ripples, Musicophile and 2 others 2 2 1 Link to comment
