Yes, there are versions of it available, apparently not that one. That's why the previous comment that it's not available. There are theoretically SACD versions which may be the same. AudioDoctor
This is one of the albums I added to my collection because it was given to me by someone for my Bday and I don't want them to not see it there if they ever happen to be handed the iPad... That said, this is not my favorite album of hers. The best song on the album is her cover of Black Hole Sun. This album is quite jarring at times and Norah is not at her best. The band behind her is pretty good but at times it didn't sound like they were playing together. Perhaps they were trying for too modern of a modern jazz sound for me. No electron left behind. Popular Post austinpop
Over the last couple of days, I’ve been enjoying various acclaimed Mahler 7th recordings on Qobuz, and comparing to my favorite version by MTT/SFS (Michael Tilson-Thomas/San Francisco Symphony. Many, like the Bernstein/NYP, Tennstedt, Sinopli, Rattle, even Solti/CSO, did not pique my interest. The first that did so was the Zinman I posted last night. Today I may have found one that gives MTT/SFS a run for it’s money. It’s the Abbado/CSO. Not only is it a wonderful interpretation and performance, the recording quality is sumptuous! sphinxsix, Musicophile, coot and 2 others 4 1 My Audio Setup Link to comment

This is the most amazingly talented young singer I have heard in I don't know how many years. Samara Joy is going places. This is such solid work at every level, I can't believe she's just 21 years old. Thanks! Just bought the album (24/96 download). Also bought Annie Fischer (Beethoven, piano sonatas). I like the way this thread make me spend my money 😛 graham and jiminlogansquare 1 1 Link to comment

(I never heard the Abbado/CSO recording, but I'm familiar with the MTT-recording, and the Abbado/BP). Happy listening! coot 1 Link to comment

I'm sorry I have no musical training, so cannot get into technicalities, but I did feel the CSO's playing was more heartfelt, and — dare I say it — more virtuosic. And I mean no disrespect — I am a huge fan of the BP. Finally, the SQ of the CSO version, despite being from 1984, is just stunningly good, and better than the BP version. Of course, this is just my personal opinion, and YMMV! WAM and AnotherSpin 1 1 My Audio Setup Link to comment

As marvelous as the performance is on this album, is anybody other than me a bit disappointed with the SQ? Piano to me sounds constricted, like it's in a box. Bass is a bit lumpy and flabby; just a bit. I don't think it is POOR sound quality, just sort of below the level I might have expected. I am listening to the 24/96 version on Qobuz. Link to comment
