These two just keep producing wonderful Beethoven violin sonatas like nobody's business. I last reported on their fantastic recording of Numbers 5-7 released his last spring, and this is to my taste just as fantastic. Excellent SQ, too!

This recording is excellent.

This is indeed very good. The allmusic review says "Hyperion's sound captures Osborne with great clarity and resonance, though the microphone placement isn't close enough to give him much physical presence." 

Which I find to be an advantage, as it sounds more like listening to a piano in an actual room setting.

Currently experimenting with a network music library versus local storage. Early impressions are good. This will likely influence the direction I take going forward with some resetting of my playback chain to move away from Roon even more.

One of the great live jazz albums. Great material and an incredible band. Recording isn't the best - it's only okay - but that doesn't matter.

Why the sarcasm? It's from  a very good sounding tape master. Any digital conversion, no matter the format, is modern tech.

If Chris likes the sound of the AP DSD version of the master, that's all that matters.

Do you think it's impossible that one remaster sounds better than another?

Let’s stay on topic. I play the Analogue Productions 44.1 version (as seen in the screenshot) and was using HQP to turn it into DSD. I also have the AP DSD version.

No sarcasm....I really wondered if modern tech could improve sound that is way over 60+ years old.  I myself think old recordings suck  and the quality of the music cannot make me forget about how bad it sounds!   Every time I cue up album, my ears want to hear everything my system is capable of.  IMHO, that cannot be had from 60 year old recordings.
