Popular Post pdvm
Played on the 1643 Van Hagerbeer organ in the Pieterskerk in Leiden, with parts dating from the 15th century. Tuned in meantone temperament, and apparently wind was provided by human-operated bellows. elcorso and sphinxsix 2 Link to comment

Popular Post jiminlogansquare
Very good performances of all the Brandenburgs, but what makes this especially worth the listen are the interpolated new compositions, by six different living composers, inspired by each of the six Bach works. Clear and spacious recording from BIS, too. austinpop, DeathFugue and AnotherSpin 1 1 1 Link to comment

pdvm
A requiem by a modern composer. I liked this more than I thought I would. The composer used a grand canvas to paint on. An antidote (to my ears) to so much modern classical music that seems afraid to make a big statement. The premiere in 2017 was met with great reviews in the Netherlands. jiminlogansquare 1 Link to comment

botrytis
OK, I know this is way out place, but this is a very unique LP, BlakRoc. It is work between Akron, Ohio rap artists and The Back Keys. The instruments, recording. and production were by The Black Keys. jiminlogansquare
Another Swiss* composer I have discovered from new releases on Qobuz. Great stuff all around, for sure. I think Harry Lime must have been wrong about the Swiss. * Born there. France also claims him. Link to comment
