A nice selection of works by a composer who is new to me. And featuring baritone Roderick Williams, who is not new to me and who I think is just marvelous in everything I've heard him sing, this included!

I'm on aspirine and on Mozart/Bach.

Mostly Mozart's take on arrangements of some of preludes and fugues from WTC . The piece played on 2 fortepianos is great! (24-96)

Listening to music while I await the arrival of my Instacart order and discovered a new album from Ingrid Lucia. She has a very unique flavor of the New Orleans sound.

I know this is Patitucci’s album but Conliffe is outstanding and makes the album.

I know it's not an album... but this performance of Bottesini's double bass concerto is the best I've heard. She is an amazing musician.

@pdvm Please suggest a recording of this composition you would rate highly*.  

 

Went from thrilled at seeing Bottesini, to noticing it was a competition (dry technical perfection), back to enjoyment.  A few concerns per her stature imposing physical limitations did crop up in technical sections [03:22].  As a student her technique is quite impressive and unique.  Excels and only rarely falls to the level of overcoming when listening with ears instead of eyes.

Daft Punk split up today, in probably the classiest way possible. Like everyone, I know the hit "Get Lucky" from this album. Listen this afternoon and the entire thing is great. Original dance music, recorded with studio musicians (not samples). Check out Omar Hakim's drumming (from about 5:40 onward) on track #3 "Giorgio by Moroder." That song tells the story of a pioneering producer that is worth checking out.
