I didn't listen to this one for a couple of years and I'm simply floored! (SACD) Agree. Perahia by the way remains one of my modern piano references for the Goldbergs. Also playing Bach right now, but not yet from my library. Brand new release, streaming from Qobuz right now (but tempted to buy both vol 1 and 2 of this). EDIT: Just ended up buying both volumes. WAM
Mr Postman brought me this album this evening (?!?), I do not listen to what she sings, I just listen to that beautiful voice (in proper Dutch: "balsem voor de ziel"): Link to comment

AudioDoctor
At about a minute into song 2 there is silence when out of nothing a single piano key is struck, instead of a drum, to get the song going again, but it just hangs there in space for a second before that happens. I love moments like this in music. The Computer Audiophile 1 No electron left behind. Link to comment

Popular Post AudioDoctor
Tonight I could use a couple class A tube monoblocks as it's currently -10 with a windchill of -30 and still dropping outside. Instead I have Jameson and Blues. She Caught The Katy (and left me a mule to ride) was allegedly John Belushis favorite Blues song, and features at the beginning of The Blues Brothers. The original version of that is on this album. cambridgehank, Michaelb4 and The Computer Audiophile 2 1 No electron left behind. Link to comment

jiminlogansquare
Two more albums for tonight: Madrigals by Gesualdo. I listened to the second album (Books 3 and 4) first, when it showed up in Qobuz new releases. I liked what I heard so much I found the first (Books 1 and 2). Dramatic and conversational choral works. The liner notes connect the works to the later developments of opera, and at least the way these singers present the works, I think it makes the case.
