Popular Post AnotherSpin
Mélodie Zhao, a Swiss-born pianist of Chinese descent, recorded the entire cycle of Beethoven sonatas at the age of 19. She plays with remarkable clarity and ease, without the slightest trace of heavy-handed spirituality or false depth. Love her sound, though it may seem recorded too close to some taste. A pianist to watch. Musicophile and Guidof 2 Link to comment

jiminlogansquare
Pleasant, swinging, great compositions and arrangements on this big band album. A few titles by Delaney stand up well against some of the big names also featured here (Monk, Oscar Pettiford, even Jerome Kern). I learned of the artist today from a Roon Radio suggestion. Streaming on Qobuz. Link to comment

jiminlogansquare
One more big band outing for tonight. This group I already knew and liked, although I hadn't heard this outstanding live album before. This was recommended to me by Roon Radio based on the George DeLancey I posted about above. Streaming on Qobuz. Link to comment
