Popular Post AnotherSpin
The outstanding ECM debuts of 1971. Bobo Stenson's trio album, with Arlid Andersen's authoritative bass playing. Guitarist Terje Rypdal's eponymous album, an early Nordic commentary on Bitches Brew. Keith Jarrett's first recording for ECM, which launched a half-century long collaboration between the pianist and the record label, unprecedented and unparalleled in the history of modern music. graham, Musicophile and WAM 3 Link to comment

A very important moment in my life.. Accidentally I played the SACD twice during the last week. Today I had another very interesting conversation with a friend of mine who is a musician, composer, conductor but also a good painter and since the Mozart usage of fifth was a part of my friend's mini lecture on harmony : graham 1 Link to comment

Popular Post jiminlogansquare
OK, I am just going to leave this here. Maybe a month's worth of Albums of the Evening that I have just barely begun to scratch ... but predict will be rewarding through the end. Over 35 hours of my old hometown crew the CSO on DG. Wow. Popular Post AnotherSpin
More early ECM. Jarrett/DeJohnette duo was recorded in '71 in Los Angeles, when both musicians were members of a Miles Davis group playing at a local club, possibly the last recording ever to feature Jarrett on electric piano. All four members of the popular 70s ethno-jazz band Oregon in the recording released under the names of just the two of them. Fine playing of Art Lande on piano with Jan Garbarek on various wind instruments. AudioDoctor and lamode 2 Link to comment
Popular Post cambridgehank
Here is the original cover. Over time there have been many questions about the evil look Mingus has for Duke. WAM, sphinxsix, AudioDoctor and 2 others 3 1 1 Link to comment
Popular Post WAM
🙂 I noticed there are quite a few releases, with different art work. This is the cover from the 2020 release. Must say I like this cover (although Mingus is missing). Now listening to one of my favorite Mingus albums. Guidof, sphinxsix, semente and 3 others 4 2 Link to comment
