Does it need to be noted that what matters is not how often a drummer measures the rhythm, but how he does the same job with minimal effort? Link to comment

Popular Post jiminlogansquare
Great recent live Ron Carter set. Among many treats, it includes a rendition of "You Are My Sunshine" with one of the most audacious and virtuosic bass solos I have heard (e.g., it quotes from the Bach Cello Suites, and it somehow just fits). Strong recommendation for this. cambridgehank, Guidof and Dave G 2 1 Link to comment

Popular Post jiminlogansquare
From back when music was *about something* (dammit). Something ineffable, yes; but reified here by dint of ginormous orchestration and spine-cracking organ bass notes. Fantastic performances with SQ to match. Go ahead, relinquish! sphinxsix
The first rock album in a long time that really surprised me is a remake(!) of Mr. Bungle's first album (which I don't know actually). Not for the fainthearted! 'The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo' (24-48) Link to comment
