Popular Post Musicophile
Schubert tonight. In a quite recent recording by the Chiaroscuro Quartet, with Alina Ibragimova as first violin. 24/96 from eclassical, well recorded BIS sound (maybe just a tad on the dry side). graham, austinpop and AudioDoctor 1 2 Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment

Popular Post Musicophile
And a second one tonight: I was actually in Lübeck cathedral for the final public rehearsal of this recording. I unfortunately couldn’t be there for the main performance. austinpop, AudioDoctor, sphinxsix and 1 other 3 1 Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment

kumakuma
Sierra Hull - 25 Trips Quote Keep in mind Hull is a two-time IBMA winner on mandolin, the first woman to ever win the award after multiple years of nominations. You hear plenty of her great work here but don’t kiss this off as a bluegrass album because it is far more ranging. Hull says, “One of the things I most enjoyed … was getting to show the wide variety of music I love…..What really matters to me is trusting myself to be who I am, and just putting my voice and my heart out there in the most sincere way I can.” Wow! She’s done all of that and more. This is highly recommended listening well beyond just the bluegrass aficionados. Guidof
Bach: Cello Suites Nos. 4, 5 & 6. Brilliantly played by Tanja Tetzlaff. Oh, and sandwiched between the Suites she plays two (mercifully short) pieces for cello and tape by Thorsten Encke. Excellent sound from a 24/96 Qobuz download. Those pieces by Encke are truly awful.
