In spite of the somewhat mystifying album title, what we have here is an engaging reading of Bach's GVs by Andre Parfenov on piano, plus a number of variations by Mr. Parfenov himself. Altogether an enjoyable endeavor.

Fine recorded sound from a Qobuz 16/44 stream.

It's too bad he omits the repeats--I'd be interested to hear what he does with them. Still, it's a fine performance, and I like his own Variations, too.

How to categorize this music? It's a mixture of afro-beat and progressive jazz, but the recipe surely goes much deeper. I wish that they were still playing together.

Beethoven: Piano sonatas No. 14, 20, 23, & 30. There are many outstanding recordings of these well-known pieces. Entremont's vigorous and nuanced readings (at 85!) are among the very best..

Exemplary sound from a 24/88 Qobuz download.

Of course I was going to love this. But I do think it's very good.

I tried it but still can’t really fall in love with Vivaldi’s operas. But agree that this is an excellent performance, not surprising with Savall.
