Last I looked at eclassical it was high on their list of best sellers. I wasn't aware we had a Minnesota Symphony, but I will give it a look! Thanks. No electron left behind. Link to comment

Harald Sæverud's 8th symphony was commissioned by the state to mark its 100th anniversary and premiered by Doráti at Northrop Auditorium. BIS album features Truls Mørk with Ole Kristian Ruud conducting the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. Was somewhat shocked to see it a best seller. I posted in here a few years back, but it should be easy enough to find on a streaming or the eclassical site. AudioDoctor 1 Link to comment

I found a live performance on youtube by this ensemble, and just finished watching it. I've had the classic Trevor Pinnock recording for decades, and have always loved it. It's one of those works where I love whichever recording I'm listening to at the moment best haha! Except the Gardiner one, there are too many areas of tempi, etc., where I prefer others to his recording. The Vox Luminis recording is probably edging past the Pinnock overall for me. I also like the recordings by Christie and Niquet (not Niquet's video, which I've heard is odd due to bizarre staging, but the CD release with a different cast). Here is the Vox Luminis concert: christopher3393, orresearch and Musicophile 1 2 请教别人一次是5分钟的傻子,从不请教别人是一辈子的傻子 Link to comment

firedog
I liked a few cuts. (Hey, but I also liked some of "Decoy"). I'd give it 2 or 2.5 stars. It's okay if you like this style of music. My first one star review ever: https://musicophilesblog.com/2019/09/07/rubberband-an-album-that-better-should-have-stayed-unpublished/ Thanks for reminding me it's already been issued. I've just spent 10 minutes checking out the content and I'm thinking about which Miles' album is IMO the worst one. The Guardian journalist wrote that this one is better than 'Doo Bop'. I'm not sure.. Now listening to this and it seems to be a very nice, relaxed sounding album with very good, spacious improvisations from both co-leaders. MP3 streaming. I think soon to be replaced by 24bit file. BTW ECM celebrates its 50th anniversary so I hope we can expect some more great recordings from the label later this year and at least one interesting concert : ECM Records announces 50th anniversary concert Link to comment

My first one star review ever: Must say I had I really good laugh reading your review 😊. To be honest: I am a huge Miles Davis fan, but I cannot stomach his recordings after In a Silent Way (yes, I managed to listen 2 minutes to Bitches Brew..., just do not like this kind of music (Return to Forever comes to mind)). Now listening to Lou Donaldson: And enjoying a nice pint: Cheers and happy listening! Melvin, graham, biosailor and 1 other 4 Link to comment
