This one has been in my rotation a LOT lately!  I think it's one of their best (and quite under-rated ) if for no other reason than to highlight Nels Cline's work.  A true Wilco rock album.

The pretty out there selection groans are justified here, mostly.  Unlike my previous post of Armenian Lullabies this was aimed at young children being spoonfed versions of lullabies from other countries.  A few tracks were stunning accapella (Norway) or perfectly nuanced sweet dreams (Hungary) that were a very enjoyable end to a late night.

From this Solti boxed set:

One of very few (2 or 3?) recordings of the uncut opera, containing some of Strauss's most glorious music, thrillingly orchestrated.  Very good performance, probably the best compromise in my view among available choices.  Hildegard Behrens, Sumi Jo, José van Dam, and Reinhild Runkel round out the cast.
