Only previous encounter with Vasks music was a Telarc I Fiamminghi disc containing 'Musica Dolorosa'. It slipped in here along with other much less shudder worthy compositions.  Bird song even sprung up near the end!

Wow, no sample clip on the net anywhere...

Now the album cover, looks like it's a heavily manipulated copy of Karl Blossfeldt's Aconitum, plate #96 in Art Forms in Nature. And other albums in the series are the same thing: Cello Concerto has plate #53 Cucurbita and Chamber Music has plate #32 Eryngium bourgatii. Interesting.

Never mind. Found it

I was a few hours late to point out linked video in the bird (song) thread.

Amazing you were able to source the album art.  Yet the equally nondescript album info was a small wrinkle.  :P

One of my favorite Strauss recordings, outside of the operas:

Richard Strauss

Eine Alpensinfonie

Tod und Verklärung

Neeme Järvi/Scottish National Orchestra

Not sure if I'll listen to disc 2 as well...

Lambdoma SONAS (System of Optimal Natural Structure) healing sounds.

"Using this new method we come upon a concept of reproduction In which the signal gets better with every stage of the process it goes through, whereas in a conventional system, each stage causes it to get [however slightly] worse.  SONAS can therefore effectively treat even existing recordings, and intensify their spatial and psychological effects."

Does this release have better SQ than the US ones?

"The overwhelming majority [of audiophiles] have very little knowledge, if any, about the most basic principles and operating characteristics of audio equipment. They often base their purchasing decisions on hearsay, and the preaching of media sages. Unfortunately, because of commercial considerations, much information is rooted in increasing revenue, not in assisting the audiophile. It seems as if the only requirements for becoming an "authority" in the world of audio is a keyboard."

A new (?) highes remaster of Karajan‘s legendary Bruckner recordings with the BPO.

What do you think?

@Musicophile This brings back to mind someone being in awe of Karajan's artfully layered salt and pepper hairstyle they were going to emulate.  Food for thought here, doing a subtle dark fade on a landscape white as the driven snow.

Going to be awful hard formulating an excuse in the face of your new evidence.

I think it does.  It is not like night a day, but to me it is better.
