I hope some might remember that Messiah was composed by Handel for Easter, and not Christmas, although I listen to it year-round.  This is my third time listening to it this month.

LOL!  I just like to explore different things and that sounded pretty interesting. Not something likely to go into heavy rotation here, but interesting. And who knows, I might fall in love with it. The linked file is mostly a joke from a Hawaii'an comic I like and have several albums from. The little clip is worth a laugh, I think.

Nils Frahm playing David Klavins 2 story piano.  Rich Indeed.  Right hand keys have a near Harp sound.  Frahm has a real touch as he makes harmony from a chord.  Definitely worth a listen.

 

One more thing I like about this album . . . I, personally, feel a piano is one of the more difficult musical instruments for a Hifi to reproduce.  I think we all have good exposure to live piano all our lives.  I grew up with one in my house.   Therefore my brain and ears have been shaped for years.  Because this Klavins piano has strings up to three times longer than standard pianos and a few other Klavins touches I have only one reference.   

 

If if you can go straight to vinyl.  Don’t pass go.  Don’t collect $200.  Amazing even in standard pressing.

Sera una Noche arrived today.  Redbook CD and it’s heard as an excellent recording. It’s available in 180 gram vinyl as well.  I just ordered vinyl...really looking forward to that.  Superb recording, musicians, music, recorded in a small church.

I love the way this lady sang, and her whole life story is appropriate for an Easter Celebration, I think.  This whole album is a total jewel.

Where musical tastes are concerned this is a grand example of discarding popular opinion.  Even the typical robotic mass media blandishments failed to disguise lack of any sales traction.  I on the other hand found this a brilliant selection well matched to the morning that greeted me.  With too much light to continue sleeping.  While typifying exactly the cold wet conditions this album was recorded under in Dublin.  It has been without doubt the only enjoyable facet on a day no spark of life could be found in any other physical or intellectual sustenance.

Recommend by one of my audiophile ftriends.  Nothing special in recording... redbook cd.  Lots to like about artist.  Great story teller talented artists.  And just for fun listen to track “ Exuse me Mister”.  Bass guitar that will loosen floor tile.
