Music from Big Pink, one of the best albums ever recorded:

Yes, although I'd be interested in suggestions regarding versions with the best SQ.

The Weight of course is a classic, but I particularly love Chest Fever.

I bought the 50th Anniversary Edition (" Newly Remixed and Remastered" it says...). I received the disc only yesterday, but the first impression is that sq is damn good (I haven't heard others visions, so I have got no reference).

{For what it's worth: I spin my discs in a Moon 260. I also rip my discs and use a MacBook Pro/Audirvana for desktop listening (or an Auralic Aries G1 if I am to lazy to feed the Moon, (Moon and Aries use the same dac, the Moon pulverizes the Aries)).}

I really wanted to like this album, but didn't succeed at all (starting from the horribly 90s looking cover). Here's my not very positive review:  https://musicophilesblog.com/2019/03/10/youn-sun-nahs-latest-album-immersion-really-not-my-cup-of-tea/.

Let me know what you think.

One of my favorite Jazz singers.  But I don't see this streaming anywhere, so I'm not yet able to add an opinion.

Qobuz has it in Europe, that’s where I found it. It’s actually no.1 of their download charts right now

Just be warned, as I wrote in my review there is not a lot of “Jazz“ left in this album.

You can also find it on YouTube:

And I see it on Spotify:

Well, Qobuz has several versions available. The 24/192 sounds more highly volume compressed than the newer 24/96 (remixed and remastered 2018) which sounds more like the original, I think (I don't have it available to  compare).

Of course, for those who aren't Jud, if you are only going to get one of their albums,  the Live "Rock of Ages" is the one to get...😉

Main listening (small home office):

Surge protector +_iFi  AC iPurifiers >Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Conditioning+Isolation>CAPS IV Pipeline Server + Sonore 12V PS >SOtM Lan Isolator>Bricasti M5 Network Player >Kii Control>Kii Three >GIK Room Treatments.

Secondary Listening: CAPS Pipeline>IFi iOne DAC>Schiit Freya>Kii Three . Also an SBT and a RB Pi 3B+ running piCorePlayer as an SBT emulator.

All absolute statements about audio are false :)

Please check it out. I may well be the only one not liking it!

I did what you asked for. I was very diligent and insistent, and was able to get through 3d track. After that – back to music!

Or if you *are* me, you've had that album and treasured it since soon after the LP came out. I second the recommendation, but you could hardly go wrong either way.

I started listening without paying attention to the album info. By the 6th track I realized there was something familiar. Ah, it's Bloomdido Bad de Grasse, from Gong. And now for some camembert (electrique).

I have to start this off with a humorous Amazon review of the Japanese HMCD release I possibly should have investigated first.  In any case I avoided an unwanted brush with Karajan.  Whom her first recording of these works with this orchestra was done with.  :)

"It is impossible to really describe this recording. It must be experienced, not written about. This violin concerto is such a war horse for both the soloist and the orchestra that one rarely hears it performed these days. This interpretation is so fresh and genuine that I felt as though I were hearing the piece for the very first time. It's a pity that the composer can't hear this CD.

However, I have a major gripe with Amazon.com. I pre-ordered the CD in August and the price was about $54.00 - which I was only too happy to pay since this is the world's greatest violinist playing with the world's greatest symphony orchestra. The CD finally arrived in mid-December. And all of the album notes are in some Asian language! Is this a bootleg copy or something? Not really a problem, as I already know these works. But now I see that Amazon is selling the same CD along with a DVD for only $18.00! Extremely unfair pricing for those of us who pre-ordered! Thumbs down to Amazon."
