Popular Post austinpop
I love Max Richter, and I love the Four Seasons, but would I love Max Richter's recomposition of the Four Seasons? Turns out, yes! Norton, church_mouse and sphinxsix 1 2 My Audio Setup Link to comment
Popular Post austinpop
Not all LSO recordings are great, but this one is marvelous. Got this from the B&W Society of Sound, back when it was a thing. How I miss it. Luckily this is on Qobuz too. AudioDoctor, Soothsayerman and coot 2 1 My Audio Setup Link to comment
Popular Post austinpop
I’m ambivalent about some of Brautigam’s Mozart Piano Concerto recordings, but I’ve got to say his 27th on this album is spectacular. Guidof, coot, Musicophile and 1 other 2 1 1 My Audio Setup Link to comment

But at least, my double feature review proposes a better alternative: https://musicophilesblog.com/2019/08/15/a-review-of-two-recent-recordings-of-mahler-1-by-vanska-and-roth/ Taste is such a personal thing. I found the opposite. The Roth did nothing for me, but I really like the Vänskä, even if it's not my absolute favorite 1st. For that, my nod goes to: MTT San Francisco Symphony Benjamin Zander, Philharmonia Orchestra That said, I love your blog. Keep the reviews coming. austinpop
Have now listened to this a few times, and it's risen to my top 3 versions of the Mahler 4th. Sofia Fomina's singing is absolutely lovely, and Jurowski goes on my already-long list of contemporary conductors to keep an eye on. Excellent recording as well. Hi rando, Which choice are you referring to - my Mahler 4th favorites, or my last post on Kullervo? 2 hours ago, rando said: In the midst of digesting a large number of albums the MO Vänskä passed through my posts in here. To no small and no positive effect in reactions towards the story of this saga. 😲 I must be missing the context, but I'm struggling to parse these 2 sentences. Please remind me what this is referring to? wgscott 1 My Audio Setup Link to comment
