new_media
The new Strokes while cranking out 7 miles on the treadmill. The album got pretty poor reviews, but with my expectations effectively lowered, it really wasn't too bad. Perhaps it was the endorphins. Link to comment

new_media
I'm listening to Radiohead's "From The Basement" performance of The King of Limbs (plus a couple of new tracks) that I ripped from the Palladia HD broadcast. The sound quality is only so-so, but it's a very nice set. It gave me a chance to experiment with downmixing 5.1 to stereo. Link to comment

new_media
Sounds like it was recorded in a phone booth. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Oh, right. Link to comment
new_media
What do you think? Oh, it's quite good. A bit more polished than her previous effort, Wounded Rhymes, which is excellent in its own right. Link to comment
new_media
Vinyl, obviously. Watching the Sound City documentary made me want to revisit this album. One of the first ever recorded there. Link to comment

new_media
I was finally able to buy the 24-bit version of this from Bleep.com. Just had to use a VPN with a UK IP to be able to add it to my shopping cart. Brooklyn garage punk rock at its finest. Link to comment

new_media
5 hours ago, Bystander said: Grizzly Bear - Painted Ruins. Got the version off Bandcamp at a great price (48khz / 16bit). Nice mastering, too: That's odd, I bought this from HDtracks and it's 24/44.1. Had to be a sample rate conversion in there one way or the other. Link to comment
new_media
Enjoying this tonight: http://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2007/Mar07/Beethoven9_Furtwangler_8111060.htm Legend has it that this recording is the reason 74 minutes was selected for the length of the compact disc.
