Dark, powerful contemporary music that manages a bit of melody! Great sound, too. (24/96 FLAC)

A superb follow-up to their equally superb Vol.1. (24/96 FLAC.)

(By the way, I'm not really a "Newbie"! I had an account and made numerous posts as Fugue--I think. Anyway, when the site made us verify our identity, I never got a verification reply and just gave up for a long time. I tried again recently with a new email address, and all is well.)

I had never heard of this pianist before, but I'm glad I took a chance! Bold, powerful playing and superbly recorded (24/96)

She has added so many notes and ornaments that these are new pieces. I enjoy them, as well as her arrangements of Bach's Violin Sonatas and Partitas. Very close, clear sound.

In spite of the somewhat mystifying album title, what we have here is an engaging reading of Bach's GVs by Andre Parfenov on piano, plus a number of variations by Mr. Parfenov himself. Altogether an enjoyable endeavor.

Fine recorded sound from a Qobuz 16/44 stream.

It's too bad he omits the repeats--I'd be interested to hear what he does with them. Still, it's a fine performance, and I like his own Variations, too.
