Alighted on baroque trumpet recently - I would love to get some further recommendations

Oh the former really, a natural trumpet in baroque setting, or a baroque trumpet playing baroque compositions in baroque setting, and not for example s baroque trumpet playing the hits of Hal David, though come to think of it....

I spend some evenings just listening back through recommendations on this thread. Always enlightening, as was the baroque trumpets recommendations above - and thanks - the top 10 and Alison Balson in particular has proved a vein enjoyable to mine

I’m a Miles and Mingus fan but I can’t get past the vibraphone. It should never be used in Jazz - willing to be educated, can someone say anything good about that instrument?

Just to put the Vibraphone to bed. I enjoyed listening to Cal Tjader that was a good recommendation, then listening to a George Shearing album - Velvet Carpet -  I have enjoyed very much, the vibraphone is all over it so it can’t be all bad can it

 

Has George Shearing been covered, what else should I track down?

May I ask how you came across her?  She is someone I've been watching for a few years now and have posted the above video here a time or two.

Recommendations of younger colleagues. She is a good guitar player. Fringes of pop music, possibly, she strikes me as an artist who has somehow cut through the cloning and talent led industry, isn’t produced to death and and seems her own person, so far. I’m not sure anyone survives more than 2 albums but I’ll  follow

I just discovered Lhasa de  Sela, forgive me for screaming from the roof tops, as your all probably familiar with her, i can’t recommend this highly enough to those who like excellent music combined with excellent sound, and those who haven’t. Is this her best recording?
