Wow, this album is really outstanding.

Great records both! I am very happy that I read your post and that I found them both at Tidal/WiMP!

Thanks for this suggestion! As a young man I used to listen to the Hungarian rhapsodies in orchestre versions. Now I tested a few piano versions in Tidal before buying this album/s in 16/44 a a flac download from Hyperion. Leslie Howard version is warmly recommended! Both SQ and music is great!

I only have a half dozen versions. My two current favorite Goldbergs are by Andras Schiff (ECM) and Murai Perahia (Sony). The 2015 Igor Levitt is also very good. Then there is Staier and Hantai on the harpsichord.

Does anyone here know where I can find a Goldberg by Alfred Brendel ?

In an interview in March 2008, it is said that the only major piano piece Brendel regrets never having performed is Bach's "Goldberg" Variations.

If you happen to have (or can find) an Oppo 103 or 105. Don’t try it with a 203 or a 205. It won’t work...

I "grew up" with Harnoncourt's cycle with the Concertgebouw, and still love them. I was aware of his somewhat weird late set with the Concentus Musicus, but not this one.

Doesn't seem to be on Qobuz unfortunately. I could only find a CD on Amazon, but since my iMac died I don't have anything anymore to rip those stupid things. Do you have a streaming or download source for these?

You can find some of it at
