accwai
Plum Blossom Melody Yang Qing, guqin solo Blu-spec CD Guqin is the Chinese musical instrument of purity. Listening to the sound and melody of the qin is supposed to calm and purify ones mind. The subtle micro dynamics and endless shades of tone color on this recording is jaw dropping. Link to comment

accwai
Just saw it as well on eclassical. With 30% off the FLAC 24/44. I'm tempted to get it, although I must have these cantatas already in 3 or 4 other versions. The ones in this volume aren't particularly popular. According to bach-cantatas.com, they mostly exist in complete sets. In particular, the BWV 197a fragment has only one other version--in the Rilling cycle. But I know what you're talking about. It's amazing how many versions and complete sets the market is supporting now. This is a no brainer for me though, as I've been following the this series for the past 10 years and it's my baseline. And looks like the Suzuki cycle is going to finish this year. It's been 18 years and it's almost done. Wow... Andy Link to comment
