The Best DAC for 150/200$ ?

Recommended Posts

Hi !

I'm new here so i'll present myself a little... I'm a french student in architecture and civil engineering and also a music lover !

I maybe want to upgrade my hifi system. I own a M-Audio firewire audiophile DAC, a NAD C 320BEE amplifier and Triangle Comete 202 speakers. Is my DAC allright ? When i bought it i wanted to build a webradio so i needed severl analog and digital inputs. But know i just connect it to my mac in order to listen at music. Is it useful to change this DAC ? Is saw the MagicDAC from Cambridge but can just use the usb interface which just support 16bits (i have a couple of 24bits/96khz files...).

My ears say the M-Audio Dac is allright... But i have never compared ! So what do you think ?

By the way, for the equipment suggestions I would recommend to make different price ranges. Like : Student Equipment - Junior employee Equipment - Senior employee equipment :)
