Is there any Mac software out that will rip from CDs higher than 44.1?

Recommended Posts

I know I may easily have my specs mixed up. Had some great programs in Windows to rip CDs to highest quality but for some weird reason I'm having harder time finding comparable programs for Mac OS X. I want to rip highest quality I can, but also need to have other pieces in the audio puzzle like external DACs that support higher rates/rips, and software maybe like Pure Music, Audirvana, or Fidelia that can playback these better files.

The best rip is one made at 44.1 as that way you store the track exactly as it was on the disc.

You can resample/upsample the file later, but most people find keeping at 44.1 TI give the best playback quality.

...in my opinion / experience...

While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing.

And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism.

keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out.

XLD or Max for ripping.

Some claim that upsampling off line and saved sounds better than upsampling in real time, although I agree with Eloise.
