Sangster
Is there a good review, written or video that compares Dirac to Convolution Filters.... ? Why not? My Audio System Link to comment
Miska
It is not that black and white either. You can have Dirac, you can have parametric EQ, you can have convolution, or you can have combination of multiple parametric EQs and convolutions. And in the end it depends on what you want to do. Quite many people for example combine room correction and digital loudspeaker cross-overs. Signalyst - Developer of HQPlayer Pulse & Fidelity - Software Defined Amplifiers Link to comment
Sangster
Arn't all these methods all not trying to do Digital Room Correction via Convolution of various filters; FIR, IRR, etc.? I keep seeing claims that Dirac is so much better than say Acourate or Audiolense. Isn't Dirac also using convolution at the end of the day? My Audio System Link to comment
Oabeieo
I have a An OpenDrc running rephase correction , but only after run Dirac in a downstream box , but before I run Dirac I do my crossovers in 2x4hds (x3) for 12ch in a fir crossover… it works amazing , no pre ringing , all low tap filters , no spacial smearing, end result super flat response and a response that matches the minimum phase version of itself… it’s fantastic Link to comment
